Student must meet with their counselor to obtain course pre-approval and ensure proper course placement. 2. Online learning requires regular, convenient access to a computer and the Internet. 3. Tuition must be paid for each online class for students if it is your 7th credit in the semester. All students pay for summer classes. 4. Students may not enroll in both semesters of the same course at the same time. They must complete the 1st semester before they are enrolled in the 2nd semester of any course. 5. Once enrolled, students have up to 18 weeks to complete their online course, including the final exam. Students must work a minimum of five (5) hours per week to make adequate progress to remain the in the course(s). 6. All coursework (i.e. lessons, tests, midterms, etc.) must be submitted in order to request the final exam which must be taken with a proctor, in person at a designated test site prior to the end date of the course. Students must sign up online on the Tempe Union website to schedule their final exam. Seniors have strict enrollment and completion dates and must complete their coursework to meet graduation deadlines. 7. To pass the course, students must pass the final exam with a minimum score of 60%. Should a student fail the final exam, they have seven days, to retake and pass the final exam. Only one retake is permitted. If the student does not pass the final exam with a score of 60% or higher on the second attempt, the student will fail the course. 8. Parents must monitor students progress at least once a week to make sure the student is making adequate progress in the course(s). Parents will be emailed a weekly progress report. 9. Tempe Union Online is an open-entry, open-exit online program. It is important to remember that a student has 18 weeks from the start date to complete all coursework and take the final. There is a spring cutoff date for enrollment to ensure completion before the end of the school year. Summer school timelines may be different based on the summer school schedule. 10. If yes, review the NCAA Division I Guidelines for Online Courses. * Counselors: Students needing NCAA approved courses need to be identified and placed directly into Online courses through Edgenuity Instructional Services using Edgenuity NCAA approved teachers. Through Edgenuity Instructional Services, student athletes receive a rigorous, college-preparatory learning experience and an interactive teacher-student component. Student and Parent must sign the Guidelines for NCAA Division 1 Athletes for Online Courses in the Tempe Union High School District.
