Dear Parents Week 8 Term 3 10 September 2019 TELL THEM FROM ME Our school is participating in a short survey that allows parents to express their views about how parents engage with our school community. Your participation in the survey is anonymous and confidential. When you submit your survey, the responses are recorded on a secure site without personal identifying information. Your answers will be mixed with those of other parents and caregivers from the school. It will only take a few minutes and we would like to thank you for your input in advance, as this shapes our whole school decision making for 2020. Please access the link below to complete the survey. http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/8fh6q Casino Fun Run is an awesome local community event and this year Casino Public School is keen to enter as many school teams as possible. There are two race options 2km or 5km. The school will pay the registration. All we need is some eager runners who can join us at Queen Elizabeth Park this Sunday!! All participants will receive a medal. 2km Race Instructions race briefing will occur at 9:00am in front of the main grandstand, race will start on Hartley St at 9:10am, parents and carers may run with their children, You will need to fill in a participant agreement on the day. There is no charge for parents or carers to run. If you can come down on Sunday with your child- please give the school a call on 66621113 to complete the registration. All students will be asked to wear the school uniform shirt. Last Friday at Ballina Public School Heidi- Rose Adams (left), Michael Melrose and Alice McBride (right) competed at the Regional Premier’s Spelling Bee. They represented our school exceptionally well reaching this level of the competition. Congratulations. Last week Jared Seiffert from Cricket New South Wales and Ben Dwarshuis who plays with the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash shared some of their cricketing knowledge with Stage 3 children during a skills session at school. (centre) Our school has been very fortunate in having its enrolment ceiling raised by 69 children to 716 children (not including 40 children in our preschool). This has occurred because three permanent buildings that were being used by Distance Education have now been incorporated into the school’s assets. We now have 31 permanent classrooms, Support Unit - 4 rooms and K to 6 28 rooms. The four demountable buildings will be removed, providing additional playground space. Another big plus for our school. Given this news our school’s enrolments for 2020 are still open. Kindergarten 2020 orientation days will be held on Mondays, October 21 & 28 and November 4 & 11 from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm. Only children who have an application for enrolment submitted and accepted are invited to the orientation days. Garry Carter - Principal
