TELECOM COE
The TELECOM COE has been established in collaboration withM/s Wipro Technologies Ltd.
With the support of our Management and Wipro, we have established and inaugurated the Telecom
CoE Lab in RMKEC, RMDEC and RMKCET on 16/02/2017 by Mr. T. V VinodKumar,Vice
President, Wipro Technologies Ltd.
The Telecom Centre of Excellence germinated with the high growth trajectory of telecommunications.
The idea of Telecom Centre of Excellence is to bring the Academic Institutions, Telecom Industry and
Government together with the objective of creating an eco-system for sustainable growth of telecom
sector in the country. COE encourage collaboration between Entrepreneurs, Industry with academic and
Government R&D institutions.
The main objectives of the COE,
To provide Application Oriented Telecom Course tothe students in collaboration with
Wiprotechnologies.
To enhance the programming skills of the students towards the telecommunication application
development and practice.
To create a platform for the students in acquiring the technology trends in the field of Telecom
through Industry Internship
To inspire the students to develop projects in Telecom Domain.
To train students to be a telecom industry ready professionals for the dynamic and rapidly
changing market of telecom industry.
Activities of the COE,
The COE set up an Advisory Committee with experts from the various industries who are advising us
on the activities of the TELECOM CoE. The Committee consists of experts from Wipro,Cognizant,
TCS, Aricent, Aircel, Qualcomm and Prodapt, W2BI, Samsung, DhyanNetwoks and technologies. This
has been found very effective in which students were able to acquire skills in the new technology areas
and get placed in many reputed companies. Students undergo trainings in course content given by
Industry experts. Guest lectures and Orientation programmes were conducted by various Industry
delegates and faculty members.
Training Course Content of the COE,
Theoretical Telecom Basics Trainingis provided in the topics of Introduction to Telecom,Optical, L2
and L3 Overview, Wireless Networks, EMS/NMS, OSS/BSS, SDN, NFV with total duration of 56
hours.
Java Programming Training includes Core Java. (Basic Java Course), J2EE Java 2 Platform
Enterprise Edition, J2ME Java 2 Platform Micro Edition with total duration of 40 hours.
CCNA course Trainingis given to acquire Cisco Certification withduration of 90 hours.
