If parents do not receive a report please contact the school. If you would like to discuss your child’s report, please contact the school and make an appointment with the class teacher. SCHOOL HOLIDAY We break up for holidays on Friday 10 July. We resume school on Tuesday 28 July. Monday 27 July is a school development day (pupil free). On this day teachers will be developed in literacy, technology and OH&S activities. NAIDOC DAY The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Day will be held on Monday 6 July. Activities such as Aboriginal dance, didgeridoo playing, bead making, art, face painting and traditional Aboriginal games will be held on the day. All children from Pre School to year 6 will participate in these activities. Students are asked to pay $2 which includes a performance and the above activities. I encourage parents to visit the school next Monday and assist or participate in some of these activities. SCOOTERS AT SCHOOL We are still having problems with children riding scooters to school and then riding them in and around the playground prior to school. If any child rides a scooter in the playground which is a safety concern for students and staff the scooter will be banned. Please discuss this with your child. YEAR 5 CAMP A reminder to parents that money and permission notes must be returned to school as soon as possible. STUDENT ATTENDANCE Could all parents please ensure that a note is sent to the class teacher when your child is absent from school. This is a legal requirement from the Department of Education. Parents are also given the option of phoning the school and leaving a verbal absent notice. This then saves having to send a note when your child returns to school. SPECIAL THANKS - BLUE LIGHT DISCO Special thanks to the Maitland Blue Light Disco Unit for their outstanding donation of $1500 to Telarah Public School. This money will be used to purchase a new data projector and screen for the school. This will allow teachers to display a variety of school activities, excursions, stu- dent work, etc to a large audi- ence in the school hall. Telarah Public School has Interactive Whiteboards in all classrooms and now a data projector / screen in the hall continues to lead the way in using technology as a tool for teaching and learn- ing. Once again many thanks to the Maitland Blue Light Disco for their continued support. KINDER 2010 We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten 2010. Could all parents please contact the office to leave your child’s details as soon as possible. NIT NIGHT Please remember that Monday is nit night where we ask all parents to check their child’s hair for head lice and treat if necessary.
