Stories we were raised on...

In the past generations it was more usual to tell stories than it is today, so we don’t have our favorite fables.

Our grandmother’s favorite fable was :“THE BOY WHO CRIED WOLF” whereas our mother’s was :“LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD”.

“AL LUPO, AL LUPO!!!” (The boy who cried wolf”)This tale from Aesop concerns a shepherd boy who repeatedly tricks nearby villagers into thinking a wolf is attacking his flock. When a wolf actually does appear, the villagers don’t believe the boy's cries for help, and the flock is destroyed. The moral at the end of the story shows that this is what liars deserve: in the end, even if they tell the truth, no one will believe them any longer.

“CAPPUCCETTO ROSSO” (“Little red Riding Hood”) This famous story revolves around a little girl who walks through the woods to deliver food to her sick grandmother. A mean wolf who wants to eat the girl, after learning where she’s going, hurries to grandma’s house, swallows her and waits for the girl disguised as the grandma. When the girl arrives, she notices that her grandmother looks very strange. But she has no time to react, because the wolf swallows her too. A lumberjack, however, comes to the rescue and with his axe cuts open the wolf, who had fallen asleep. Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother emerge unharmed.
