UTBI: Anti-Virus Purchase The University is planning on purchasing a campus-wide anti-
virus license 8,000 on-campus licenses (~$9.44/license, ~$4.50 annual) 4,000 off-campus faculty/staff licenses (onetime $3.09/license) 30,000 student licenses ($1.07/license)
Final decision has not be made, but Cabinet has endorsed the proposal

Email Quotas
All e-mail quota’s have been applied based upon affiliation
Recall Notification system: 90% usage: Advisory message 100%-120% usage:
Initial Warning Message Two-weeks later additional Notice Two-weeks later, quota adjusted to 100% limit
>120% usage: Automatic message and account lock Possible changes:
Increase frequency of notices Increase overdraft amount (20%->100%)
(Note that some clients report a different quota limit.)

VPN and Security Issues
VPN version being updated on the website ITR is only supporting the Cisco VPN client You may use other clients at your own discretion
SNMP strings: Many network-attack devices have “public” for the public
string. Either: disable SNMP access set an appropriate public string
Printer Management, e.g., via web interface You need to set password for these services, otherwise
anyone on campus (including students from housing) can reconfigure your printers.
