THE BARRIER

THE BARRIER (HIC2441) was developed as an intrinsic safety barrier for Universal Process (FBM247248) and Safety IO (Tricon Cx Model 3902X) and replaces several traditional modulesmdashanalog in analog out digital in digital outmdashwith a single multifunctional IO module This fully tested one-channel isolated barrier provides HART transparency low power dissipation and is self-adjusting with no configuration required It is the only SMART universal barrier on the market

Safety Relay

The safety relay provides one-channel galvanic isolation between field and control circuits It isolates load circuits up to 230 V AC and the 24 V DC control circuit The HIC5861 has a fail-safe relay contact output for de-energized to safe (DTS) and the HIC5863 offers energized to safe (ETS) functionality Both versions are certified for SIL 3 applications
