Hi, I’m Megan and I am the Team Manager and I also do marketing.

Hi, I’m Lauren! I am the resource manager and I also do marketing.

Hi, my names Bennery and I am on the design and design engineering team.

Hey, my names Sarah and I am on the graphic designing team and designing team.

Hey I’m Aideen and I am the graphic designer and design engineer.

Our team goals!1.To compete in the Formula 1 competition 2012/13.

2.To make design a formula 1 car that will win the Formula 1 competition 2012/13.

Aerodynamics:Definition of Aerodynamics: Noun: The study of the properties of moving air, and especially of the interaction between the air and solid bodies moving through it.Drag: Aerodynamic "drag" is the energy lost pushing air , causing a reduction in fuel efficiency. Drag uses around 60% of fuel used at cruising speeds when loaded, 70% when empty.Aerofoil: Aeorfoil shaped body creates aerodynamic force. The lift on aerofoil is mainly its angle of attack. This can also cause Downforce. Lift and downforce also causes drag.Ground Effect:Our research on the ground effect showed us that the closer our car is to the ground, the more downforce it has.

Wheel Design:Wheels are the main part of the car that can cause aerodynamic drag. We need to find the best shape of wheel to have airflow around the wheel itself. Shape of the wheel is considered for the design of the car. Wind Tunnel: A wind tunnel is a test in a controlled environment to see the effect aerodynamically on the shape of an object, or in our case, wheels and the car. It can tell us if there is downforce on a certain aspect of our car. Each test will clear the car of aerodynamic drag. We are considering wind tunnel testing for our car.

Materials:Possible materials:1. Plastic Construction Board- Easily cut, light and very strong.2. Alluminium Sheets- These are thing and durable you will be able to pick these up anywhere.Wheels:We need a material that is light and strong, also easy to aqquire.Ceramic Ball Bearings:These are being considered for the car as they reduce the weight of the car. They are also harder than the steel balls. Ceramic bearings can operate under high temperatures. We feel it may be best for our car.

Physics Questions: One of the questions we ask is what can affect the speed of the car. We want to know what it is that will effect the speed of our car. We also are considering aerodynamics and the laws that come with it. We want to know how the mass of the car can affect the speed of our car. These are all considered when designing the car.
