IRONY- LANGUAGE WITH DOUBLE MEANINGverbal irony - literal meaning of what’s said is opposite to intended message
dramatic irony - characters say/represent opposite of what the composer wants us to understand
situational irony - contrast between what we expect and what actually happens
socratic irony - person with more knowledge feigns ignorance and presents info to his/her advantage
