Using local resources and connections, hire on-the-ground reporting team and contributors who can be introduced to our editorial philosophy and mission and serve as an initial street team at local events.

Plan initial soft launch event, go public with editorial work and begin active outreach to partners, sources and other relationships. Spread far with editorial to find community narrative.

Begin developing targeted, market-specific long-term editorial calendar for both events and content based on needs of community.

Host larger quarterly events in partnership with other organizations, establishing marketing for events business.

Outreach through editorial process as marketing tool to grow regular readership, email subscription and social media follows.

Grow longer term sustainability by highlighting strongest value to existing community, including recruiting, business connection and economic development.

Develop Technical.ly channel, with jobs and RFP board, social media accounts turned active, Meetup group and initial editorial being created. Host initial advertising from founding sponsors and partners.

How Technical.ly becomes a part of a new community.

After identifying needs of the community, produce, publish and execute annual, 12-month calendar that brings together events and editorial.

IMPACT & GROWTHSince 2009, we have connected with 1.5 million engaged

visitors across Technical.ly’s editorial and more than 50,000

people have attended our events. More importantly, existing siloed

tech and entrepreneurship communities have become better

connected, more civic-minded and challenged to be better through

our journalism and events.
