high quality and market leading courses and seminars,
focusing on learning and knowledge building, within the
Oil & Gas, Maritime and Wind industries.
Maersk Training delivers open courses, as well as tailor-
made, customer specific courses focusing specifically on
customer demands (HPHT, Safety, Introduction etc)
Maersk Training delivers at own centers globally, or at
any location customer may wish.
The search for oil and gas drives the industry into deeper
waters, increasing the need for specialist knowledge to
promote safety and secure profitability.
We define the needs together with our clients, and Maersk
Training meets the needs by developing both the train-
ing process and the tools for training and education at all
levels. Our range goes from basic training of junior drill-
ing staff to advanced well control and “train the trainer”
courses.
The key objective for any training is to build competence
and ensure work place efficiency. Our training is relevant,
quality assured and focused on the actual working envi-
ronment. That is why we call it “training to be Prepared”.
Our training is based on operational experience and real life scenarios. We believe in creating opportunities for our custom-
ers by sharing skills and building competences. By training the individual as well as the team dynamics we will enable our
customers to achieve a safe working environment and increase their operational performance.
Training to be prepared
”a better learning experience” says it all.
We deliver knowledge and learning, thus increasing
work performance, effectivity and business potential,
while decreasing risk of incidents and cost.

IWCF Well Control – Rotary Drilling
IWCF Well Control – Well Services
DuRaTIOn: 5 days
To submit the understanding of well
control techniques for surface or
subsea BOP installations at driller
or supervisor level according to
International Well Control Forum
standards.
After completing this course,
participants will have the knowledge
required to pass the IWCF
Certification test. The IWCF
Certification in Norway is a
government imposed certificate for
leading well service personnel and
must be renewed every two years.
DuRaTIOn: 4 days
The Certification Standards are based
on a detailed analysis of the pressure
control knowledge that persons
require to perform their jobs safely.
The standards have been devised so
that the measurement of knowledge
can be assessed systematically.
After completing this course,
participants will have the knowledge
required to pass the IWCF
Certification test. The IWCF
Certification in Norway is a

DuRaTIOn: 2 days
Get a better understanding of how
a stuck-pipe situation can develop.
To learn that predicting a stuck-pipe
situation can be made whilst under
development and what warning
signs to look out for. Precautions to be
taken to avoid stuck-pipe situations,
as well as examples of methods to
solve such problems.
To be able to:
• Create an environment where
team members challenge existing
practices and suggest or develop
new ones that enhance
operational performance
• Identify and eliminate activities
that have potential to result in
increased non-productive time
• Openly discuss issues that impact
on operational performance
• Obtain sufficient knowledge about

Introduction to Drilling Technology
Introduction to General Platform Operations
Introduction to Completion & Well Maintenance
Introduction to Commissioning
Introduction to Petroleum Geology
DuRaTIOn: 3 days
Get an insight in the techniques used
in the drilling of wells for oil and gas,
from the start to the completion and
production. Furthermore the
participant will learn some of the
rare terminology which is used in the
oilfield, and be given an insight in the
purpose of using floating production
storage and off-loading units.
Upon completion of this course,
participants should be able to
describe the various phases of a
drilling operation. They should be
able to identify, state the position
and give an account of how drilling
equipment is used on a platform.
DuRaTIOn: 2 days
Get a basic knowledge of production
equipment and processing.
Upon completion of this course,
participants should be able to give
an account of the production process
of oil and gas. They should be able to
identify platform equipment, state
the position, and in principle, give
an account of the workings of the
production and process equipment
involved.
DuRaTIOn: 3 days
Get a basic knowledge of the most
common well problems.
Upon completion of this course,
participants should be able to give
an account of the production process
of oil and gas. They should be able to
identify platform equipment, state
the position, and, in principle, give
an account of the workings of the
production and process equipment
involved.
DuRaTIOn: 1 day
Learn the development of a
commissioning program.
After completing the course the
participants should have a basic
understanding of commissioning
and how a commissioning program is
built up.
DuRaTIOn: 2 days
Learn how oil and gas are formed and
how we locate oil on the Norwegian
continental shelf.
Upon completion of this course,
participants should be able to
describe the formation of the earth
and the internal and external forces
that influence the earth, for example
the formation of continents,
mountain ranges, volcanoes, earth-
quakes and the different types of
natural terrain: mountains, dales,
beach surfaces and the seabed.
Participants will be able to recognize
the most important minerals and
rock types. In addition, they should be
able to talk about the main geological
features of the Norwegian shelf, and
the methods we used to locate and
determine the use of oil and gas fields.

advanced Well Control High Pressure / High Temperature (HPHT)Drillers of today are certified either
by IWCF or IADC. These certifications
are standard courses with a fixed
syllabus, thus in essence, stating the
minimum requirements.
When crews go offshore, they are
however met with a different set of
requirements, where team efforts
and advanced wells, not only test
their abilities to work in teams, but
also stress their competences on
interpretation of the well data.
With Maersk Training Advanced
Well Control Course, your crews will
gain a high knowledge of well control,
Rig Resource Management, Team
based crew training and well specific
cases. Furthermore we will train
your crews on one of the world’s most
advanced simulators.
The course is a 5 day course with
mixed content, varying from theo-
retical seminars, simulator training
and well calculations. Course are
intended for 1-2 crews simultane-
ously (Assistant Drillers, Drillers and
Tool Pushers).
Maersk Training provides continous
competency building between certifi-
cations, thus enhancing understand-
ing of well bore behaviour and team
coorperation in challenging envi-
ronments. Including enhanced risk
assessment and a better execution of
well control situations.
Wells of today are being drilled at
remote locations, with increasing
levels of complexity. This means, that
competence demands for crews on
board rigs have drastically risen dur-
ing the last years, and will continue
to do so in the years to come.
Maersk Training has extensive com-
petencies and references in training
crews on HPHT wells. We can supply
your crews with the knowledge
needed to ensure a safe and efficient
operation, by ensuring knowledge
transfer and hands on training.
Maersk Training HPHT Training will
give the professional drilling team
the necessary understanding of the
concerns and hazards of drilling
HPHT wells prior to Spud-in. We will
present and create an understanding
of the agreed and improved proce-
dures before drilling of a HPHT well,
as laid out by the drilling contractor
and the oil company.
Maersk Training will host and con-
duct well specific seminars, focusing
on Planning, Well on Paper, Guide-
lines, Capacities of the well, Gas han-
dling etc. Seminars are well specific,
and will contain information on the
well in addition to procedures and
manuals being used.
Besides theoretical courses, Maersk
Training can host simulator training,
focusing specifically on the well being
drilled, together with team coopera-
tion and stress handling.
Prepares your teams to execute
tasks, handle critical situations and
ensure safe and efficient drilling
operations.
