The first three subjects in the table above are for those needing BASIC MATRIC. You do not need Mathematics to get your Matric. For the fourth subject we usually recommend Mechanotechnology which has less calculations and much easier.

All registration forms need to be completed and emailed together with copy of ID and proof of payment.

We use Postnet Courier Services. Study material is sent to your nearest Postnet. Sending to your personal address will mean extra payment of courier fees on your part

FEES PAID ARE ONLY VALID FOR THE CURRENT TRIMESTER AND MUST BE SETTLED IN FULL. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL FORFEIT YOUR FEES. If not clear please call us for further information.

Final outstanding fees are to be paid before the candidate receives their exam permit. No permit will be issued when the candidate has not settled their outstanding balances. No permit means no exam.

Small monthly payments can also be made during the course of the studies and send proof of payment.

Study material is printed in black and white. For languages (English and Sake Afrikaans) there is an option of getting a full color study material however an extra R300 for each textbook will be payable

Failure to attend your exam day will automatically forfeit your exam fee. However registration for the next exam is still possible upon paying the exam fee ONLY

Failure to submit assignments will mean no term mark. NO term mark means NO exam.

National Senior Certificate (NSC): N3 Technical Matric

1.1 Purpose & Rationale of Qualification

This qualification is intended to provide learners with a general education to perform the tasks at this

level, participate in life-long learning, be gainfully employed or self-employed in the world of work

and enter Higher Education institutions. The National Senior Certificate is an equivalent to the FETC

National Senior Certificate or Grade 12. Learners completing the National Senior Certificate may not

obtain automatic exemption to access university degree studies, but can however access all other

further studies through the available articulation structures.

1.2 Exit Level Outcomes

On completion of this qualification the learner is expected to obtain access to Higher Education

institutions, manage and organise developmentally appropriate activities, interact and communicate

effectively with others, participate responsibly in the life of a community, evaluate information

gathered through a process of observation, demonstrate understanding and application of the range of

knowledge and skills contemplated in the qualification as contained in the syllabi of the various

instructional offerings.

On passing 4 subjects (as listed in 1.3 Learning areas) plus 2 compulsory languages; Business English

and Sake Afrikaans, a National Senior Certificate (Matric certificate) will be issued after combination of

symbols at a Provincial Department of Education.



The combination process

The combination process is in two parts. The first combination involves obtaining the National N3 Certificate.

Umalusi combines all the four passed engineering subjects into a single National N3 certificate.

This process is then followed by the adding of two languages into the combined National N3 certificate. After

the addition of languages, this then will become a National Senior Certificate (NSC). The time taken for the

combination varies and is controlled by both the DHET and Umalusi and can take from three months to nine

months unfortunately. Students must be prepare to wait for the NSC.
