425-14 SPOT ELASTIC ATTACHMENT

425-14 is available in four configurations: A) A Two Piece Band With Sandwich Elastic B) Two Piece Band Bottom Cover C) Top Turn Down Hem With Elastic In Bottom Band D) Top Turned Down Hem Sandwich Elastic To sew, place the garment into and under the presser foot, the garment is sewn to a predetermined point and a touch to the knee switch will automatically lift the presser foot and tensión bar and feed elastic under the foot. Sewing then continues to a point where gathering is to stop. Atouch of the foot switch will cut the elastic and allow the band to be finished flat. This unit is supplied with two main input air regulators.(Fig. 1) The regulator on the left controls all functions of the 425-14 and should be set at 60 to 70 PSI. The right regulator supplies the elastic tensioning cylinder and should be set at 40 to 45 PSI. The pneumatic control package is located under the table (fig. 1) and contains the logic for the unit, please refer to your pneumatic diagram. The air knee switch (Fig. 1) actuates the elastic feed function including tensioner and foot lift. (Fig. 1) Heeled the air treadle to lift the presser foot and the toe switch actuates the cut-apart knife. The cover plate may be removed by loosening three quick clips and lifting the piece away ( fig 1). After removing the cover the serrated feed roller is visible (Fig. 2), this feed roller is mounted with a one way roller clutch and will roll free in the direction of elastic travel while stopping in a reverse direction. Immediately in front of the feed roller is the cut-apart knife (Fig. 2). This rolling razor Cutter is actuated by the toe switch located on a sew treadle. The rubber like cutting pad under the blade may be rotated and turned over to provide numerous cutting surfaces. Directly forward of the cut apart knife is the air powered drag tensioner. This unit lifts when the knee switch is actuated and the pressure is controlled by an independent regulator located to the right of the sewing machine. Increasing or decreasing pressure will change your elastic tensioning valve. The entire 425-14 mechanism is mounted to the head with quick clips. The two clips at the left and under the unit when opened will allow the mechanism to be swung out for machine serve, a third clip on the right allows the complete removal of the unit. The foot and cutting mechanism may be removed and replaced without adjustment. To load material a “V” should be cut on the end of the strip. Insert the tape through the right angle guide and into the lower folder. A finger slot is provided on the under side of the folder, this will assist in loading. The material should be feed all the way under the presser foot. Repeat the process with the elastic and insert it to the Cutter. If the elastic goes beyond the cut point actuate the Cutter and remove the remnant to prevent jamming.

425-14 ADITAMENTO PARA COSER ELASTICO A PRETINAS.

La 425-14 esta disponible en cuatro configuraciones: A) Con el elástico entre dos bandas. B) Con dos bandas y el elástico cubierto por la banda de abajo. C) La parte de arriba dobladillada y el elástico cubierto por la banda de abajo. D) La parte de arriba dobladillada y el elástico colocado entre la parte de arriba y la banda de abajo. Para coser, coloque la pieza en y debajo del prensatelas, la pieza es cosida hasta un punto predeterminado y con el interruptor de la rodilla automáticamente levanta el prensatelas y la barra de la tensión y el elástico es alimentado debajo del pie. La cubierta puede quitarse aflojando tres sujetadores y levantando la parte hacia afuera ( fig. 1) Después de quitar la cubierta el rodillo aserrado de alimento queda al descubierto.(fig. 2) Este rodillo está instalado con un embrague de una sola dirección y rodará libremente en la dirección que rueda el elástico, mientras que para en la dirección contraria. Inmediatamente delante del rodillo de alimento está la cuchilla (Fig. 2). Esta cuchilla en rodaja es accionada por el interruptor de la punta del pie localizado al lado derecho del pedal. El colchoncillo de goma debajo de la cuchilla puede voltearse para proveer numerosas superficies para cortar. Directamente delante de la cuchilla está el tensionador de arrastre accionado por presión de aire. Esta unidad se levanta cuando se acciona el interruptor de la rodilla y la presión es controlada por un regulador independiente situado a la derecha de la máquina de coser. Aumentar o disminuir la presión cambia la presión de la válvula de presion del elástico. Todo el mecanismo de la 425-14 esta montado a la cabeza con sujetadores de facil uso. Para insertar el material una punta en “V” debe ser la cortada en el extremo de la tira. Inserte la cinta a traves de la guía en ángulo recto y en la plegadora de abajo. Hay un orificio para el dedo en la parte de abajo de la plegadora,ésto facilitará la inserción del material. El material debe introducirse totalmente hasta debajo del pieprensatelas. Repita el proceso con el elástico y lo inserta hasta la cuchilla. Si el elástico pasa el punto de corte accione la cuchilla y remueva el pedazo cortado para evitar que se atasque la máquina

The sequence of operation is as follows: Depressing the knee switch causes the tensioner and presser foot to lift while simultaneously resetting the feed roller actuator. After an adjustable delay the actuator will return driving the feed roller, after an additional adjustable delay the tensioner and foot will drop. The sewing must stop for elastic insertion. The amount of elastic inserted from the roller to the foot may be changed by adjusting the stop arm on the roller actuator. The cut-apart knife is actuated by depressing the toe switch. The speed of the Cutter cylinder is adjusted by opening and closing flow controls which controls the exhaust of the cylinder. The overall pulse length is adjusted at the pneumatic control package. One other flow control is provided on the drive actuator, this controls the speed at which the elastic is inserted. Increasing the speed may cause more elastic to be inserted due to the overrunning of the roller clutch.

The unit may be adjusted from side to side to reset edge margins by loosening the proper screws to make the desired adjustment screws. See Figs. 3 & 4 to determine which adjustments to make. This can change the whole relationship of the folder feeder unit to the presser foot and needles. Replace the cover plate and the 425-14 is ready for operation. Again the material is inserted and sewn to the point where gathering is to begin. Atouch of the knee switch will actuate the elastic insertion.Sew to a point, a toe switch will cut the elastic and a band is finished flat. For proper alignment the folders and guides must be in alignment with roller (A). Both the material being sewn and the elastic must be centered on the roller. See figure 4 for location of adjustment screws for the different folders and guide. Note: Slide lock, roller Cutter and roller actuator assembly have been moved for clarity. A. Operating instructions for 425-14E Auto Spot Elastic with

4060-06B control box. Control box switch functions: Auto/Manual: Selects either Automatic or Manual operation modes. Chop: Pressing this button will activate the elastic cutting knife. Use to manually cut the elastic. Insert: Pressing this button will activate the presser foot lift, open the elastic tensioner, and insert the elastic to the needles. Use to test and adjust the insertion hardware. Tension: Pressing this button will open the elastic tensioner. Use to load or unload elastic or to remove tension from unsewn elastic. Reset: Press to cancel the automatic sewing cycle and return the program to the beginning of a new cycle.

Thumbwheel switch settings:

Thumbwheels 1-3: Set the desired length of cut elastic to sew into the seam in stitches. Adjustable from 0 to 999 stitches. Stitch counting occurs only in Auto mode. Thumbwheel 4: Sets the time delay between activating the tension opener and activating the inserting wheel. Adjustable from 0 to .9 seconds in .1 second intervals. Set to allow the elastic tension opener to fully open before the inserter activates. If this time is too short the elastic will jam during insertion. Thumbwheel 5: Sets the amount of time allowed for the elastic inserter wheel to fully activate. Adjustable from 0 to .9 seconds in .1 second intervals. Adjust to allow the inserter wheel to make a full cycle. If this time is too short the elastic insertion will be inconsistant. Thumbwheel 6: Sets the amount of time allowed for the elastic cutter to activate. Adjustable from 0 to .9 seconds in .1 second intervals. Adjust to allow cutter to make a full stroke. If this time is too short the elastic will not be cut apart all the way. Piece Counter: Counts the number of times the cutter is activated. an be reset by the button on the front of the counter.

Automatic operation mode:

With the selector switch in the Auto position the operator has full control of the sewing machine via the treadle. This includes variable speed sewing and presser foot lifting. Upon activating the knee switch the sewing machine will stop (regardless of the treadle position), the presser foot will lift, the tensioner will open, and the elastic will be inserted to the needles. The foot will drop, the tensioner will close, and sewing control will be returned to the treadle. When sewing is resumed the computer will count the number of stitches set in the first three thumbwheels and at the end of the count the sewing machine will stop (regardless of the treadle position), and the elastic will be cut. Sewing control will then be returned to the treadle. The cycle can then be repeated. The stitch counting cycle can be terminated by either pressing the Chop button on the operator panel and cutting the elastic or by pressing the Reset button and continuing to sew elastic. The elastic will then have to be cut using the Chop button. The Insert and Tension buttons will not function during stitch counting.

Manual operation mode:

With the selector switch in the Manual position the operator has full control of the sewing machine. Pressing the knee switch will stop the sewing machine (regardless of the treadle position), the presser foot will lift, the tensioner will open, and the elastic will be inserted to the needles. The foot will drop, the tensioner will close, and sewing control will be returned to the treadle.There will be no stitch counting. The operator can sew in as much elastic as desired. Pressing the knee switch a second time will stop the sewing machine and activate the elastic cutter. Sewing control will then be returned to the treadle. This cycle will repeat each time the knee switch is pressed. Pressing the Reset button will cause the next knee switch activation to activate the insertion cycle.

Operación en automático:

Con el selector en Automático el operario tiene control completo de la máquina a través del pedal. Ésto incluye la velocidad variable de la costura y alzar el prensatelas. Al activar el interruptor de rodilla la máquina para (no importa la posición del pedal), el pieprensatelas se levanta, el tensionador se abre, y el elástico es insertado hasta las agujas. El pie baja, el tensionador cierra, y el control de la costura es devuelto al pedal. Cuando se reanuda la costura la computadora cuenta el número de puntadas fijado en los primeros tres selectores y al final de la cuenta la máquina deja de coser (sin importar la posición del pedal), y el elástico es cortado. Atlanta Attachment Company (AAC) Statement of Warranty

Manufactured Products Atlanta Attachment Company warrants manufactured products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a

period of eight hundred (800) hours of operation or one hundred (100) days whichever comes first. Atlanta Attachment

Company warrants all electrical components of the Serial Bus System to be free from defects in material or workmanship for

a period of thirty six (36) months.

Terms and Conditions: AAC Limited Warranty becomes effective on the date of shipment.

AAC Warranty claims may be made by telephone, letter, fax or e-mail. All verbal claims must be con-firmed in

writing.

AAC reserves the right to require the return of all claimed defective parts with a completed warranty claim form.

AAC will, at its option, repair or replace the defective machine and parts upon return to AAC.

AAC reserves the right to make the final decision on all warranty coverage questions.

AAC warranty periods as stated are for eight hundred (800) hours or one hundred (100) days whichever comes first.

AAC guarantees satisfactory operation of the machines on the basis of generally accepted industry standards,

contingent upon proper application, installation and maintenance.

AAC Limited Warranty may not be changed or modified and is not subject to any other warranty expressed or

implied by any other agent, dealer, or distributor unless approved in writing by AAC in advance of any claim being

filed.

What Is Covered Electrical components that are not included within the Serial Bus System that fail due to defects in material or

workmanship, which are manufactured by AAC are covered for a period of eight hundred (800) hours.

Mechanical parts or components that fail due to defects in material or workmanship, which are manufactured by

AAC.

Purchased items (sewing heads, motors, etc.) will be covered by the manufacturers (OEM) warranty.

AAC will assist in the procurement and handling of the manufacturers (OEM) claim.

What Is Not Covered Parts that fail due to improper usage, lack of proper maintenance, lubrication and/or modification.

Damages caused by; improper freight handling, accidents, fire and issues resulting from unauthorized service and/or

personnel, improper electrical, plumbing connections.

Normal wear of machine and parts such as Conveyor belts, "O" rings, gauge parts, cutters, needles, etc.

Machine adjustments related to sewing applications and/or general machine operation.

Charges for field service.

Loss of time, potential revenue, and/or profits.

Personal injury and/or property damage resulting from the operation of this equipment.
