Feb 2019, Aviation Security Certification System Workshop: Saudi Arabiarequested guidance to improve their certification system in place. The workshopprovided the best practices to fulfil and maintain ICAO Annex 17 SARPs

Saudi Arabia will receive USOAP audit during the year 2020

On 24 January and 18 April 2019, two NCLB Meetings were held in Cairo

to discuss the current situation of the aviation system and explore the possibilitiesof how the ICAO MID Office could support the implementation of a capacitybuilding project focusing first on the aviation infrastructure, human resources andsafety oversight capabilities.

UNDSS travel restrictions don’t allow for ICAO on-site missions. Thedevelopment of an NCLB Plan is ongoing
