optibelt OMEGA and optibelt ZR timing belts have beendeveloped for the use in high performance drives. Drive
speed is transmitted synchronously, i.e. without speedloss, and with a constant transmission ratio.
The optibelt OMEGA tooth profile significantly reducesthe running noise level. The teeth are designed to ensurethat they mesh perfectly, with minimal friction, into thepulley teeth. optibelt OMEGA timing belts run in HTDand RPPpulleys.

All optibelt OMEGA timing belts have inherent resistance tooil, heat, cold, ozone and tropical conditions. Speciallabelling is not required.
Oil resistanceThe limited oil resistance prevents the damaging effects ofmineral oils and greases, as long as these substances arenot in permanent contact with the timing belt and/or are notpst i lg qutitis. with icsd dmds fresistance, e.g. to mineral oils, the performance of theoptibelt OMEGA timing belts can be improved by usingspecial belt constructions. Please contact the optibeltApplication Engineering Department.
Temperature resistanceThe timing belt can withstand ambient temperaturesfm 30 C t +100 C. Tmptus utsid this glead to premature ageing and embrittlement of the timingbelts and thus to their premature failure. Teeth
The considerably increased tooth strength (compared tooMeGa) is md pssibl by th us f mid bs ithe polychloroprene compound. This imparts very high toothstiffness as well as increased shear strength.
FabricThe shear strength of the teeth is enhanced by an extremelytough fabric. The shape of the OMEGA teeth and theminimal friction fabric enable a smooth meshing of the belttooth into the pulley groove. In addition, the special polyam-ide fabric is very wear resistant.
The new high performance timing belt forextremely high loads across the whole speedspectrumOPTIBELT has developed this belt in the sections 8M and14M especially for drives with high torques and severeshock loads. This innovative glasscord stands out due to the combination of the following,important characteristics: gd sistc t shck lds vy high dymic sistc vy l pmt d lstic sttchTherefore, the belt performance can be increased by anadditional 15 %, compared to OMEGA HP. In contrast to anaramid cord, which also has a very high resistance to shockloading, the reinforced glass cord has a considerably lowerpermanent stretch during the running time. Aramid cord hasa high permanent stretch (see diagram) during running. The
minimal tension loss of the reinforced glass cord enables akeeping of the pitch and thus to a load which is distributedmore evenly on the teeth during running.In addition, the reinforced glass cord can also be used atmedium and high speeds while the use of the aramid cord islimited to low and medium speeds. In contrast to the aramidcord, the reinforced glass cord enables a considerableextension to the range of applications.

The teeth consist of a new compound reinforced with aramidbs, hich gut high sh stgth. Thy shaped and exactly spaced in such a way that they meshperfectly with the pulley grooves with minimal friction. Thedimple in the tooth guarantees quiet running.
FabricThe specially developed polyamide fabric stands out due toits xtdiily l fictil cfcit d its l ischaracteristics.It also protects the teeth from early wear and tear andprevents tooth shear.

Thisprotects the tension cord from oil, humidity, friction andwear and tear.This top layer has some inherent resistance to mineral oils,but not to vegetable oils and water soluble cooling andcutting oils.

TeethThe teeth are made of a shear and wear resistant rubbercompound vulcanised to form a unit with the belt back. Theshape and arrangement of the teeth are such that the pulleyengages the belt teeth precisely and with minimum friction.As long as six teeth or more are in mesh on the small pulley,the complete capacity of the timing belt can be used withoutany deduction.
Tooth pitch is the distance from the centre of one tooth to thecentre of the next measured at the pitch line, which corre-sponds with the level of the tension cord. The pitch or datumdiameter of the pulley is a theoretical dimension which liesoutside the outer diameter.

Oil resistanceThe inherent oil resistance prevents the damaging effects ofmineral oils and greases, as long as these substances arenot in permanent contact with the timing belt and / or aret pst i lg qutitis with icsd dmds fresistance, e.g. to mineral oils, the performance of theoptibelt ZR timing belts can be improved by using specialconstructions. Please contact the optibelt ApplicationEngineering Department for more details.
Temperature resistanceThe timing belt can withstand ambient temperatures from 30 C t +100 C. Tmptus utsid this g ldto premature ageing and embrittlement of the timing beltsand thus to their premature failure. The temperature resist-ance of Optibelt ZR timing belts can be extended usingspcil cstuctis, .g. up t +140 C. Pls ctct thOPTIBELT Application Engineering Department for moredetails.
Anti-static propertiesAnti-static properties enable the safe discharge of electro-static charges. This charging can have such a strong impact timig blts ith isufcit lcticl cductivity tht
