03.Instant, built-in access to your workstreams

Microsoft Teams helps marketers work together more smoothly and quickly. That gives them more time to find better ideas that have greater impact and drive better business results. Teams combines and consolidates conversations, files, and tools in one workspace so everyone has instant, built-in access from wherever they are when they need to work. It also makes it easier to access the productivity of Office 365, including SharePoint, OneNote, PowerBI, and Planner—and lets them search across people, files, and chats with intelligence provided by Microsoft Graph.

You can also tailor your Teams workspace to explore data, leverage your favorite cloud services, and get updates from the apps your people already use. Create custom channels based on work streams or topics. Pin commonly used files and websites for easy reference. You can even add bots to perform automated tasks and build custom integrations to your existing business processes with the Teams developer platform.

04.Work together better with Teams

So how does Teams work on real marketing projects?

Let’s say that your creative lead is in Seattle, with key people in Portland. Your business lead and her team are Denver with your client, whose key stakeholder is traveling this week. Your legal reviewers are in New York, the Analytics team is in Dallas, and your SMEs are in Atlanta and Pensacola. Almost everyone has family commitments and scheduling challenges, and time is tight, of course, because you work in marketing.

The business lead and her team interview SMEs and client stakeholders,

then post their findings to the Background Channel that your Project Manager set up in the File Section before the project began. Creatives review the materials, then meet on Skype and begin rough ideation. The business team adds a PR plan in PowerPoint to the Files section and the analytics team adds insights from HootSuite. The creatives review the new material to make sure that their work reflects any changes. As they work, they can easily chat with each other on Teams and reach out to the business and analytics team members for clarity.

Creatives can keep an eye on the schedule because it’s pinned to the Project channel. The business team needs an update a few hours later, so the creatives upload rough design files from the Adobe Creative Cloud plug-in, present them to the business team, get feedback, and revise their initial concepts.

The next day your project manager team presents the work using Teams, your people get real-time feedback from the client, update files for approval, then go into production.

05.Good ideas feed one another

Anyone who has been in a brainstorming session knows how the first "good" idea can inspire more creative thinking and turn good ideas into great ones. With Teams, all the resources your employees need to communicate, share ideas, and access resources are in one place. When inspiration hits, they can share and develop ideas quickly instead of losing time trying to figure out which email threads to follow. Instead, they can create a meeting in Teams, talk to other key players, and brainstorm good ideas any time they want.

Yammer also lets you share campaigns across your company or organization, meet with firstline workers and solicit their feedback, and optimize your messaging before the campaign goes live.

Much like Teams, it’s connected to the full suite of Office 365 apps that your employees already know and use, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

From that initial brainstorming session all the way through the campaign launch, Teams and Yammer make it easier to strengthen relationships with Sales teams and other stakeholders so you can make sure your message will resonate with customers.
