Most companies that sell luxury vehicles with sport features do so with their automobiles and SUVs, but have difficulty marketing and selling motorcycles with similar features. For instance, BMW has a reputation of giving sporty vehicles luxury components that will make the ride both fun and relaxing. Yet, this is hard to come by in the motorcycle arena. Take the bike to the left: designed by BMW, but does not have many luxury components for the rider to enjoy. Our team has noticed this trend through our research, and this is what sparked our idea. In our design, we intend to raise the par for luxury found on sport motorcycles.

•Designing a motorcycle that is powerful, fast and has the quality of a sports bike, but provides the benefits of a luxury car.

•Designing a motorcycle with a counterbalance mass distribution system that will provide stability to the ride without hinder its quality.

•Designing an aerodynamic bike with wind tunnel technology, to provide sleek chassis structure

•Ensuring fuel-efficiency by using light-weight syntheticmaterial fit for the power of the engine.

•To design a bike with such features to have a base price under$30,000.

1) Do you ride motorcycles?2) Do you own a motorcycle?3) Does anyone in your family own a motorcycle?Definition: Sportbike:A motorcycle type in which the rider is bent forward for better flow of the air (as opposed to the upright position of a touring bike). Also called a

"crotch rocket" because of the strain it places on the rider's crotch and because of its very fast speed.Cruiser: [1] Any motorcycle designed to be ridden long distances.

4) If you answered yes to question 3 or 4, is the motorcycle a cruiser or a sportbike? 5) If you answered yes to question 3 or 4, what attracted you to the type of bike you own?

•To design a motorcycle that has the physical components of a sports bike

•To design a motorcycle that pampers the rider with luxury amenities that are fit to the rider’s preference.

•Gives the rider seating that allows for high speeds and comfort.

•To design a bike that targets the young businessperson who is looking to travel with speed and style.

•To design a bike that has a cost of under $30K.

The Counterbalance Mass Distribution System stabilizes the rider around turns. When The Counterbalance Mass Distribution System stabilizes the rider around turns. When leaning into a turn, a rider’s center of mass is shifted inwards. This can cause the bike to leaning into a turn, a rider’s center of mass is shifted inwards. This can cause the bike to tip over. To alleviate this potential problem, a counterweight will swing out to realign the tip over. The shock system on our bike is revolutionary because it features a pillarless design that makes the bike look like it is hovering. The shocks do not balance the bike using the back of seat, but rather the middle of the seat. The back and the front of the bike are balanced using a computer system that detects shifts in the center of the mass of the bike.

Due to the nature of the interwoven network frame, the chassis is extremely durable and will allow for one to look inside the bike. This adds to the aesthetics of the bike and makes the framework dual-purposed.

•The windshield and the back of the seat experience the most stress in wind tunnel.

•In order to ensure that the rider and the bike can handle the high velocities of the wind, a strong fiberglass body will be used.

•When a 50m/s wind is applied to the 2-D layout of the motorcycle, the max velocity is 200 m/s. This is not a practical value, but we can still see the target areas that will experience most drag in the ride. The values are all proportional.

•In order to add the luxury amenities to the bike, we could not have the rider sit snug to the bike, like in most sport bikes. This was a design compromise, but we still managed to find an ideal sitting style where sport riding could be achieved while still enjoying the luxury features.
