Getting StartedYou’ll receive an e-mail invitation from Teaching Strategies, at the address you gave your child’s teacher. Click the Web site link in the body of the e-mail, which will take you to the Accept this Invitation screen. Follow these steps:
New Users
Click the “Register” link next to “New Users.”
Create a username and password, set up three security questions, provide other personal information, and click Submit.
If you’ve correctly provided the requested information, you’ll see a confirmation that your account has been created. If an error message appears, correct the error and click Submit again.
Click the Access GOLD Family Site button.
Existing Users
If you already have an account with TeachingStrategies.com, click the “log in” link near “Existing Users” and log in with your username and password.
Returning to the Teaching Strategies GOLD® Online Family Site
Visit TeachingStrategies.com.
Click GOLD Quick Access at the top of the screen.
Enter your username and password.

NavigationThe Teaching Strategies GOLD® online Family Site is organized by three tabs across the top of the screen: DOCUMENTATION, COMMUNICATION, and PLANNING.
Place your cursor on a tab to reveal the tab’s drop-down menu. For example, the image below shows the options that appear when you place your cursor on the DOCUMENTATION tab.

Adding DocumentationAs a family member, you have the ability to add to your child’s profile any documentation you want to share with your child’s teacher.
Steps:
From the DOCUMENTATION tab’s drop-down menu, select Add Documentation.
Viewing Documentation
Your child’s teacher may share documentation of your child’s learning with you. To view the documentation, follow the steps below.
Steps:
From the DOCUMENTATION tab’s drop-down menu, select View Documentation.

Replying to a Message
You can reply to a message from a teacher.
Steps:
From the COMMUNICATION tab’s drop-down menu, select View Messages.
On the View Messages screen, click Action and select View/Reply.
Composing a Message
You can send a message to your child’s teacher.
Steps:
From the COMMUNICATION tab’s drop-down menu, select Compose Message.
Select the Child, and under Send Message To select the teacher(s) to whom you are sending the message.
Viewing a Message
Your child’s teacher can send you a message. To view the message, follow the steps below.
Steps:
From the COMMUNICATION tab’s drop-down menu, select View Messages.
Please remember that all messages and documentation will be found in Teaching Strategies GOLD® online and not your personal e-mail account.

Viewing Shared Activities
Your child’s teacher may share activities that your child enjoyed doing in the classroom or that the teacher thinks you would enjoy doing with your child at home. You will find the shared activities under the PLANNING tab.
Steps:
From the PLANNING tab’s drop-down menu, select Activities to display the submenu.
Click Shared to view a list of the shared activities.
Click View next to an activity name to open the activity.

Searching for Activities
Teaching Strategies GOLD® online lets you search for activities that you can do at home with your child.
Steps:
From the PLANNING tab’s drop-down menu, select Activities to display the submenu.
Click Search to display the search options.
You can search for a particular activity or click the View All Activities button to see the full list.
Click View next to an activity name to open the activity.
