Now… the future?
We must remember…
The boundary between ‘real life’ and ‘online’ has disappeared for the majority of our students

With a laptop I could work…anywhere…
anytime!
And don’t be restricted by the walls of your classroom,
or even the fences of your school.

The distinct possibility that many of our students today will be remote workers, people working in a flexible arrangement from home, where the lines are blurred between what is working hours and what is downtime.

Good teaching practice is what really matters!
So what does that require?Especially with current technologies
Staff Professional Development
• The integration of ICT in the classroom requires time and effort by the teacher.
• From my personal experience teachers are neither given the time, nor the appropriate training.
• So here are some ideas to begin your training process.
Tech Brekkies
The idea is to have a quick half hour catch up on tools, tips and tricks in Information and Communication Technologies and good teaching pedagogy.

Twenty-20The microkeynoting of the keynote world
Twenty-20
The twenty-20 challenge is an idea to have members present 5 minute keynote presentations with the use of pictures and minimal text and be given 20-30 seconds per slide.

Speed-Geeking
Speed-Geeking is a bit like “Speed-Dating” and involves members with a skill in a particular ICT tool providing small group training and given just 5 minutes to get this done.

In the history of innovation, the "revolutionary" approach often
fails, because it doesn’t take the human factor into account.
This session is aimed at you, providing ideas for an ICT toolbox

What is a PLN?
Teachers have always had learning networks. Previously they included teachers in your school, old workmates, a few colleagues from University and maybe a number of presenters at workshops (like Future Science) you had attended. We learn from these people and we share with them also.
PLN is an acronym for Personal Learning Network.
What is a PLN?
Your PLN no longer needs to include only those who you can physically “catch-up” with. You do not even need to have met these people. But these people can be all be a source for your professional development.

I use Evernote for many of my notes due to its easiness to sync across all my devices.
The reason I love itand recommend it
is the pen input software.
