    TEACHING DRUNKEN CASSAVA STYLE

    Teachers are the most effective and appropriate as a facilitator. Now, they

    are confused about curriculum changes in Indonesia, especially for teachers of

    elementary schools. Owing to, some teachers of state schools have genuinely

    obeyed Indonesia government regulation to use the new curriculum (2013

    curriculum). In comparison to, there are private schools that like to use the latest

    curriculumSchool-Based Curriculum (SBC)/ Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan

    Pendidikan (KTSP). Nevertheless, the educational system will evaluate learning

    outcomes of both private and state schools in format of 2013 curriculum. Granted,

    some improvement of the curriculum will be meaningless when the implementers

    (teachers, stakeholders, society and students parents) do not obey the regulation.

    Naturally, this is about changes in English curriculum.

    Certainly, English teachers cannot do well their job. Due to, there are

    changes time allocation. Unless there are available time for English at elementary

    schools, the teachers are not confused. Right now, most English teachers of

    elementary are still rejecting it. Likewise, an indication that they act as if being

    Indonesia leaders. In fact, they are humans who must recognize how theirs grand

    design divine. It is fate to be a leader a ccording to moslems belief in Quran i.e.

    surah Al-Ahzab (33), ayah 72 Indeed, we the personalities of moslems God

    (Alloh) offered the trust to the heavens and the earth also the mountains, and

    they declined to bear it and feared it; but human [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he

    was unjust and ignorant. But, God said to first human in surah Thoha (20), ayah122 Then his Lord (Alloh) chose him and turned to him in forgiveness and

    guided [him].Case that, the teachers are not the elected leaders.

    Obviously, Indonesia government in politically is the highest leader of the

    curriculum development. Thus, they must let the divine destiny about the

    admission and rejection. Owing to, the both sides do not recognize which they

    have rule at first from their God. According to moslems beliefbased on Hadith of

    History: Bukhori and Muslim O Messenger of Allah, give us a seat on one part

    of God given unto you. Then, the Prophet replied: "By Allah, we did not lift a

    person in a position to people who want or ambition on that job.In addition, to

    do the curriculum development, the government has interpreted fourth and fifth

    principles of Indonesia (taken from Pancasila). The fourth principle (People's

    Sovereignty) requires that every state action must be based on people's desire, and

    the fifth principle (Social Justice) requires that the state is the goal of social justice

    evenly. Therefore, they had done needs analysis of whole things related to the

    curriculum development in the future.

    Indeed, English language is not under mandated Youth Pledge (on 28th

    of

    October, 1928), but third pledge mandates focus is on Bahasa Indonesia as

    national language. Also, it does not to persevere in the heaven language pure-

    blooded moslems say the Arabic is the language of religion or paradise. Naturally,

    teachers are at their wits end. Because, the government does not regularly

    conduct teachers training about 2013 curriculum. For that reason, they facilitate

    extracurricular English for children (elementary schools students). Moreover, they

    do not know that the curriculum improves acceleration programs. Hence, entire

    community of education should support their children, so that they are planning to

    register them for acceleration program. As a result, theirs children will get

    English subject at junior high schools in younger age than average age. On the

    contrary, they only are on the warpath to reject the new regulation.

    The reason why, the teachers should review Indonesias condition is an

    islam majority and a multi-languages country, so that Indonesian children must

    learn not only vernaculars and Bahasa Indonesia (national language), but also

    Arabic language. Therefore, the teachersbravery and resistance to governmentspolicy is illustrated as drunken cassava style. Its philosophy is similar to drunkard

    who can do anything without deep thinking. Also, eating too much cassava gets

    risk on hyper-carbohydrate and cyanide inside cassava (linamarin dan

    lotaustralin). Of course, theirs students capability are not only linguistic

    intelligence. Thus, the other sort of mulitiple intelligences do not have many

    issues of the English elimination at elementary schools subject. In order words,

    this is about drowsy and a quick-acting poison. Undoubtedly, it is arbitrary action.

    Regardless, the teachers can join secondary schools to teach English

    extracurricularscan be English for Specific Purposes (ESP).

    To sum up, the English teachers of elementary schools do not to be fat cats

    when they obey requirements of many English extracurriculars. Plainly, they

    solely have no alternative opinions and choices to do not facilitate the English

    extracurricular. In fact, entire community of education assists them to disobey the

    new curriculum. Hopefully, they can be better understand to manage financial

    economy. Thus, they do not surrender to transform their capability as English

    teachers of secondary schools. Then, they can get benefits from the 2013

    curriculum. For instance, there are English extracurriculars at junior high schools.

    ; the acceleration programs need more extracurriculars as ESP. Therefore, the

    entire community should facilitate the English teachers of the elementary to teach

    at secondary schools. Furthermore, they will understand the beneficial of Youth

    Pledges mandate and implementation ofPancasila, especially the fourth and fifth

    principles. In a nutshell, the government may evaluate the implications of 2013

    curriculum toward both state and private schools without fraudulent activities

    from party which does not understand the meaning of changes.
