MY LEARNING DAY TEACHING DAY AT DIAK I had an amazing day, people were buzzing everywhere and you could chose to do so many different things, you just need to be organized with your time table and be bold enough to try new things. When I arrived in the morning, lots of people already were there patiently waiting in line to get into the classes that they were interested. Someone, very nice young lady, helped me to find what I wanted, and from there the sky was the limit. I decided for origami , I really wanted to be supportive towards my class mate Joey, but also because I want to lear a bit, that I can show to my kids back home. Second lesson was how to prepare a vegan dish without cooking, and last but not least salsa. Vegan lesson was very interesting to attend, the teaching was done by a DSS student with a second degree as a chef. At the begging we were just a few students attending this class, but after a while I noticed that, the class was full. I loved the way he explained basic things for having a simple but very nutritious dish. Since I love cooking, I had fun volunteering, that way, I could see and experience first hand on what he was doing. I took a few pics to help me to remember the recipe for later, definitely I'm going to try it at home. From vegan lesson, I went to salsa class, fun time here I come. Seems that it was very popular because I had to wait for a while my turn, but even waiting I had fun. Once I started, all I could do was, dance and smile. We were four girls at the begging but after a while one give up, soon tho she was replaced by two young men. From there it was paring and letting the men lead the dance floor. Apparently, when you dance salsa , women have to rely a lot on the men , they are the ones who gently guide you, and I did my best to not step on their toes. The salsa instructor was great, very calm took us thru basic roles of salsa and by no time, even me, the clumsiest one, we were dancing. I don't remember how long time it was the class, but anyhow, who was keep track, way too much fun. Definitely going to try salsa again, now that I have learned some moves. Origami was a very peaceful class, Joey has a very unique way of teaching, his patience is admirable, and because of it I manage to do a fox and a swan. I’m very eager to show my new skills to my kids, crafting and origami during winter time can be life savior for any parent. The atmosphere was very relaxed, students were having fun, learning new skills, teaching seems to be fun as well, I'll keep in mind for next year and maybe even try teaching for once. I say, hats off for those who organized such an event, no matter how different you may be, for sure you could find something interesting to pick. I was amazing by the number of activities , it’s good to know that we have around so many talented people in our University. 1

MY LEARNING DAYTEACHING DAY AT DIAK

I had an amazing day, people were buzzing everywhere and you could chose to do so many different things, you just need to be organized with your time table and be bold enough to try new things.
