Faculty Using the Lightboard

Quick to Learn: typically after one 20 minute session faculty were comfortable to use the system on their own

Easy to use: the lightboard simulates a live classroom lecture enhanced by situating the content in front of them

Fast to share: with Mediasite (and also Kaltura) there is very little editing and ease of sharing links

Tips & Tricks Using the Lightboard

• Don’t wear black, white, patterned clothing or text on shirt• Look at the camera often as you talk• The background of the presentation must be black• Leave space in the presentation for you• Interact with your content• Type content in presentation when writing it on the board doesn't add to the

learning experience• Try not to write over your face (if you do, move away from it afterwards)• Use the second monitor for your notes• Use a cheat sheet just off screen (especially for long math formulas)• Erasing takes time, plan for it. Edit erasing from the video after recording.• Use bright markers made for glass
