REPORT
The Department of Commerce organized a Webinar on "Intelligences of Highly Effective People" on 12
September 2020 from 11 a.m - 12 p.m. by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Sri
University, Cuttack, Odisha. The event was hosted on Google Meet and attended by 177 students and
teachers of the Department of Commerce. The event began with Dr. Neha Singhal, (Convener, Webinar
Committee) introducing the session to the audience. Then, Dr. Mamta Arora, Teacher-in-Charge
proposed the welcome note. Following, Dr. Arpita Kaul (Member, Webinar Committee) gave the opening
remarks and introduced the speaker to the audience.
Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh initiated the session with an exhilarating discussion on management and role does
the mind play in the same. He carried out the discussion further on the nature of mind and Mind
Management. The heart of the discussion was Intelligence and its various types. Professor Ajay Singh

explained the audience the spiritual division of body in terms of Chakkras and the significance it behold
via a presentation. The session encapsulated intriguing theories of various thinkers such as Dr. David
Hawkins who thought on the lines of intelligence and thinking. Moreover, in order to substantiate the
discussion, a video on Prajna-Yoga (Intuition Process) was played which depicted the development of
intuition process and the importance associated with it.
After the exhilarating session, Dr. Arpita Kaul, (Member, Alumni Committee) moderated the question
and answer session. The students got answers to their varied queries ranging from intelligence, emotions
to thinking process development.
At the end, Dr. Pooja Jain, (Member, Alumni Committee) proposed the vote of thanks. We, the teachers of the Department of Commerce, Sri Venkateswara College feel incredibly proud to pull
out such an informative session which holds so much relevance in the present world. This webinar was
intellectually illuminating not just for students, but was also enlightening for us as a major take away
from this session was “It is simple to be happy but it is difficult to be simple.” We hope to host many
such events in the future too.
