Hello, my name is Maribel Alba and I am the Common Core Demonstration
Teacher for 6th grade at the elementary level. I have been teaching for 6 years. Currently I am teaching a 5th /6thth grade ABE combination at Warm Springs Elementary School, and I am a RCD 6th grade Math Unit Writer. I am involved at my site as part of the Common Core, math, and ELD teams, and English Learner Facilitator (ELF). I am happy and eager to support and help 6th grade and combination classroom teachers in our district with the Common Core and the RCD units of study. I would like to invite our 6th grade teachers to come and visit my classroom or email questions they may have. This
is an exciting time in education, allowing our teaching professionals the opportunity to be creative, in lesson planning and instructional delivery. We are all learning together.
My specialty is engaging students in a range of effective, collaborative discussions.

This class is composed of 5th and 6th grade ABE students varying ability with some students in each of the grade levels being designated as GATE, R.S.P., E.L.D., or needing read 180 support.
Currently there are 15 fifth graders and 18 sixth graders enrolled. Schedule revolves around computer cart use.
