Get involved...in-person, online, or both...the Fall Ministries of Northside will prepare for launch on Sunday, September 13, with an in-person and online Preview Party. Most Northside ministries for all ages will happen in at least two of the three following formats:

in-person, online, or a hybrid of both. Engage and actively move forward with your spiritual formation at the level that you feel comfortable as we continue to navigate through this pandemic together. Join us for the 2020 Northside Fall Ministry Preview Event in-person for an Angus Burger, or watch from home by livestreaming the event online. We will meet from 5:00-6:30pm on the Northside campus. This will be a great opportunity for you to learn about all ministries happening in and through Northside this fall. You can expect a fall season of in-person, livestreaming, and zooming events and activities for all ages.

The 2020 Fall Upward Flag Football Season is right around the corner! Online Registration will be up and running no later than Sunday, August

9th. This year’s season will be modified with fewer fields and plenty of room for social distancing with precautions put in place to keep our kids and families as safe as possible. This year we will have a shortened season with six games. Practices start the week of September 21st with games each Saturday, from October 5th - November 7th. Keep an eye on our Facebook page UpwardVictoria for more information concerning player evals and volunteer leadership meetings. You can also contact the church office at 578-1568 for more info. This year’s season will be limited to 180 players and is open to all children 4 years of age – 6th grade.

We care. As Northsiders, it’s been a challenging season as we have social distanced since March of this year. This fall we are launching a multi-pronged

care group strategy in a continued effort to reach out to fellow Northsiders and friends of Northside. If you would be interested in helping with this new ministry, contact deanmeade@nbcvictoria.org.

UPWARD FLAG FOOTBALL

Upward Flag Football registration is online NOW. Practices begin the week of September 21. The first game is October 3. The last game is November 7.

Upward is for all kids ages 4 through 6th grade. The cost is $68. You can purchase shorts for an additional $12. Evaluations are: August 30 (2:00-4:00pm); September 2 (6:00-7:30pm); September 5 (9:00-11:00am); and September 6 (2:00-4:00pm). All players must attend one evaluation.

We will also need coaches and referees. Go to the event page on nbcvictoria.org to register or volunteer.

NORTHSIDE WOMEN’S RETREAT

Northside is hosting an in-house women’s retreat February 19-20. The cost is $60 per person. Registration will begin September 19, and closes November 29. Our guest speaker is Wendy Fitzgerald. Join us for this great event.

EXTREME KIDS LIVEWednesday nights are for kids at Northside. Entering kinder through exiting 5th grade meet at 6:00pm in Building B for some extreme fun and learning. Extreme Kids Live will meet through September 16.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILDIn July we are collecting school supplies for shoeboxes. Bring your donation to a Connect Center or the church office.

NORTHSIDE BAPTIST SCHOOLThe school is taking registrations for the 2020-21 school year. Children 2 years old through 5th grade can receive a Christian education at Northside Baptist School. School is scheduled to begin September 8 with face to face instruction. Call if interested.

BUDGET MEETING: It is time to start preparing Northside’s budget for 2020-21. There is a meeting on August 16 at 6:30pm for committee chairmen to pick up budget packets. This is the time for congregational input. If you have a question, concern, or suggestion for the budget, this is the meeting you should attend.

AWANA: Parent’s Night is Wednesday, September 23, at 6:00pm. Awana Kick-off is September 30 at the skating rink. Awana classes begin October 7.

SUNDAY EVENING SERVICES: Sunday evening worship services meet in The Chapel at 6:00pm. Tom Hughey leads this traditional worship service.

HOMEBOUND MEALS: The Community Action Committee is looking for someone to help deliver meals to the homebound. If interested call Vickie Smith at 578-2989.

DIRECTORY: If you have downloaded the Breeze app, you can see our directory. The problem is that a lot of our members don’t have pictures. Another problem is outdated pictures. Send us your photos so we can update your profile.

ONLINE GIVING: If you don’t feel comfortable returning to church, we understand. But you can still give your tithe online at nbcvictoria.org. You can also text GIVE2NBC to 206-859-9405. The church operates on your gifts. Please don’t leave it up to someone else.

CHURCH SECURITY TRAINING: The security training originally scheduled for April has been moved to January 2021. More details as we get them. The cost is $5 for Northsiders and $20 for guests.

ONLINE SERVICES: Watch both Sunday services live on our website Sundays at 9:30am and 11:00am. You can also watch the services on our Facebook page at anytime.

CHURCH HOURS: Just a reminder that the office is open 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday. We are temporarily closed on Fridays. Staff is working from the office on alternating days. You may want to call before you come.
