* Your ID can be used to access the T-Connect services within a predetermined period of time. However, when the term of validity has been exceeded, a portion of the functions cannot be accessed. In such cases, service can be continued by making an optional purchase of the T-Connect application. Purchases can be made by accessing [Option purchase] under [Settings] (Refer to pages 51 to 52).

About this Manual Precautions when Using T-Connect

This manual represents the start-up guide for the T-Connect smartphone application provided to users who purchase new TOYOTA vehicles. It provides details on initial setup and registration, services available, and how to use the application.Ensure that this manual is read thoroughly prior to using T-Connect, and check the usage conditions and licence agreement.

In addition to being a high-function navigation system, T-Connect provides leading-edge spot information and a wide range of other information services viasmartphone to support the user.

The information and routes suggested as navigation guidance are simply advice to provide users with comfortable levels of driving. Drivers are required to use their own judgment and drive in accordance with actual traffic signs and local conditions.

Drivers are requested to check out the route they intend to travel prior to departure. The navigation will provide audio guidance on the route when the vehicle starts moving.

Introduction

Free TypeThere are certain restrictions in effect for the T-Connect contents that can be used. In addition to the functions that can be used free of charge, the navigation service can also be used at no cost for a period of one week from the start of usage. It is possible to amend the setting to become a T-Connect member by purchasing the option.

Provision of ServicesThe T-Connect application for smartphones is a high-function navigation system that provides a wide range of services to drivers including optimal route guidance to the chosen destination and information regarding chosen locations.Anybody can take advantage of these services simply by downloading the application.In addition, further convenient content can be used by becoming a T-Connect member.

A chargeable membership system enabling members to use all T-Connect contents.Membership includes various useful services that provide drivers with a wide range of detailed support. An ID and password will be issued after membership registration.

Read the QR code using your smartphone.

Enter your Apple ID and password, and click [Get].

* In order to install on an iPhone using a PC, Apple iTunes (free file management tool) is required. Download from http://www.apple.com/itunes/

NavigationNavigation is a service that uses the current location as a start point to provide route guidance to a destination.GPS satellites are used to display the vehicle's current location on a map downloaded beforehand.When a desired destination is entered, the screen displays the optimal route from the current location and provides route guidance to that destination. In addition, since the current location and the direction to the set destination can be displayed on the Off-road Map, even for off-road areas, the destination can always be reached safely.Moreover, navigation is high-function system that can offer the optimal route to the destination using information distributed from the TOYOTA Smart Center.

* When using Free Type or when the term of validity has been exceeded for the services you can access with your ID, service can be continued by purchasing the option with the T-Connect application.

* If a destination has been set on the Off-road map, route guidance will not be provided once the vehicle has entered the off-road area. Instead, only the traced path will be displayed.

Downloading Maps (Wi-Fi environment recommended)To use the navigation system, it is first necessary to download the map data.

There are 2 options to download the map.

Option 1. Country-wise Map Download

The map for each country can be downloaded to your smartphone. For Saudi Arabia, the map is divided into 3 regions (KSA-1,KSA-2,KSA-3) and can be downloaded region-wise.Once the map for a country/ region is downloaded on your smartphone, mobile data communication on your smartphone is not needed to use Navigation within that country or region. Only GPS is required to be ON.

Option 2. On-Demand Map Download

Using mobile data communication on your smartphone or Wi-Fi, the map of your surroundings is automatically downloaded while you are on the move. Hence in addition to GPS, mobile data communication or Wi-Fi is required throughout your travel.

Tap the [Navi] tab on the top right of the screen and

choose [Map Download] from the "Navi Menu".

By selecting a country/region in the "Map Download"

screen and tapping [OK], the map for the selected

country/region can be downloaded to your smartphone.

*Once the map download is complete, the screen displays a satellite view of the maps downloaded in the smartphone.

The map can be downloaded by selecting your preferred countries or regions.

* Owing to the large volume of map data, it is recommended that downloads are carried out on a Wi-Fi environment. Downloading maps from the cell phone network will take time owing to the large volume of data and there are consequently cases in which heavy charges for packet data communications may be incurred.* The download may take a considerable amount of time due to the quantity of data. Therefore, verify that there is sufficient battery charge prior to starting the download process.* In the event of the connection being cut off during downloading, the download will recommence from the place of the cut off when the connection has been reestablished.* In some cases, it may take several minutes to display the downloaded map data.* The map data is updated once (or twice) a year. * In general, it is necessary to download the map data directly from the smartphone.

6. Warning to inform usage of mobile data communication

* Mobile data communication or Wi-Fi is required to download the map. The communication fee shall be borne by the customer.

of your surroundings will download automatically.

* "On-Demand Map" requires mobile data communication (or Wi-Fi) as well as GPS to search and download the map along your route while driving. The communication fee shall be borne by the customer.

The status of traffic condition can be seen on the map. This feature helps in suggesting the optimalroute and also calculates the approximate arrival time to your destination.

T-Connect Support Center operators provide drivers with support 24 hours a day,365 days a year. Simply call the operator to use the destination setting service.

* Depending on the country, there are cases when the user will incur communication fees.* The Destination Setting information transmitted from the Call Center is limited to five items of information per call.* The facility search service provided by the Call Center is limited to the services provided by T-Connect.

* If you are outside of your country of residence, international call information will be displayed. Please tap [OK] if you agree to the content displayed.

* In case of weak GPS signal reception, screen to confirm local information will be displayed; after which you will automatically be connected to the operator.

Simply mention the name of the facility you need, andthe operator will run a route search on the destination andvia points and send it to your smartphone togetherwith destination information.

* Note that there may be times when connections cannot be established depending on the strength of the radio waves for the smartphone in use.* International calls will incur a fee.* The current setting for the country of residence can be checked from "Settings". (refer to page 47)

4. The destination information will be able to be referredin your "Inbox" by tapping "List of Received Messages".

5. The following operations are possible when the facility to be set as the destination is selected and the details are displayed.

Tapping the [On-Road Navigator Destination Setting] button allows

the user to set the facility as the destination in the navigation.

Tapping the [Off-Road Navigator Destination Setting] button allows

the user to set the facility as the destination in the Off-road Map.

3. Once the search result is received, you will be noticedby the message appearing on the screen of your smartphone.

*For cases when you are not browsing the application,

you will be notified by the message appearing on the top

of the screen of your smartphone.

T-Connect is equipped with a Prayer Times Notification function and Qibla Compass function to display and notify the user of prayer times, and to point in the direction of the mosque.

* The message "Update the data" will be displayed only during the first setup.

* When using an iPhone and uninstalling the T-Connect application, if the alert setting is not turned off before deleting the application, the notifications will continue for approximately 30 days. Therefore, always turn this setting off before uninstalling the T-Connect application.

It is possible to link genuine TOYOTA vehicle-mounted equipment to smartphones onto which T-Connect has been installed so that T-Connect can be started up and used on the screen in the car.

For safety reasons, drivers must NOT concentrate on operations or the screen whilst driving. Disobedience may result in a lack of caution and can lead to accidents. All operations must always be carried out with the vehicle halted in a safe location.* TOYOTA cannot be held responsibility for damages or losses incurred by the driver or third parties.
