WELCOME TO TBCO KIDS!

Are you ready for the adventure of your lives? Thank you for saying yes to being a difference maker in the lives of the kids and families in this house. Here at The Belonging Co Kids we believe there is no Junior Holy Spirit. Our goal is to invite and lead kids of all ages to experience everything God has for them. We believe children are not only the Church of tomorrow; they are the Church of today. Our goal is to create an environment where kids can experience God’s presence firsthand each and every time we come together.

TBCO Kids is divided into two main areas: Early Childhood and Elementary. Tabitha Parchman leads our Early Childhood ministry and Mal Corwin leads our Elementary ministry.

Tab, Mal, and I are so thankful for you and look forward to serving with you in discipling children for life. If we can help you in any way, please let us know!

CORE VALUES

JESUS IS OUR MESSAGEWe are unapologetically in love with Jesus and our purpose is to reveal who Jesus is by sharing the gospel through our everyday lives. Our methods may change, yet our message will remain the same. We believe that every Christian is called to live a life that displays the ways of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit and through a commitment to His Word.

LOVE IS OUR HIGHEST CALLINGJesus commanded us to love the Lord God with our whole heart and love others as ourselves. Our heart is for all people, because all people are loved by Jesus. We desire to lead the lost home. Love is how the world will know that we are His disciples.

SERVANT LEADERSHIP IS OUR HEARTIf serving is beneath you, then leadership is not for you. Our greatest example of servant leadership was Jesus and we believe the greatest leadership is service to others. Every leader must first be a servant; from the parking lot to the pulpit, this is a house where everyone serves.

GENEROSITY IS OUR PRIVILEGE We believe generosity is about going above what is required. We see generosity as a privilege - it is who we are because it is a reflection of who our Father is. He is generous; therefore, we are generous. Generous with our time, talents and treasure. We give generously because He first gave generously to us.

PRAYER IS OUR POSTUREPosture is defined as “a particular way of dealing with or considering something.” May our posture always be humility and prayer when we are considering or dealing with situations in our lives. Prayer changes things, and we cannot do what God has called us to do without prayer.

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS OUR DNAAs Christians, we should display the nature of God through the evidence of the Spirit at work in our lives. The “fruits of the spirit” are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We believe that as we become more and more like Jesus through the Holy Spirit active in our lives, then more and more our nature should display the “fruits” of His Spirit. When we treat others around us through this mindset, we reflect the nature of Jesus and help build a healthy church community.

EXCELLENCE IS OUR WORSHIPWe give honor and worship to God when we do our best for Him. We will always do the best with what we have. We are on time, engaged and prepared. We don’t do things halfway but endeavor to do them to the best of our ability. When we serve unto God, it is our worship.

INCLUSION IS OUR INSTINCTJesus invited the disciples to belong before they believed, and He had eyes to see those His society overlooked. Likewise, rather than take a passive stance towards those who may act, think, believe, or look differently than ourselves, as Servant Leaders our instinct is to run towards them, to see past the labels society has given them, and to create a place for them to encounter Jesus.

CHECK INCheck-In Servant Leaders help new families get checked in for the first time. They are often one of the first faces new families see! Check-In Servant Leaders also help returning families use self check-in and help solve any problems that may arise during check-in or check-out. They also direct families to the appropriate classrooms.

WORSHIP TEAMThe Worship Team is intentional in fostering a place of worship for the team. They also help in setting up and tearing down their gear. They lead worship in the Trailblazers classroom and then do a short acoustic set in the Adventurers class.

EARLY CHILDHOOD // RULES TO REMEMBER

BATHROOM POLICYNo single adult should ever take a child to the restroom alone. There should be two adults at all times. Adventurers will use the bathroom in the classroom. You will have one adult at the door, leaving it cracked. The other adult will assist the child in using the bathroom. The second adult should be able to have eyes on the first adult. Both the children and the adults must wash their hands.

Groundbreakers and Trailblazers will use restrooms with multiple toilets. Adults do not enter the bathroom with the children. One adult should have a shoe in the door where she can hear what is going on inside the bathroom and see the sink area. The second adult should be outside the door. This ensures protection for both the children and the adults. No adult should use the bathroom at the same time as the children.

BUDDY SYSTEMThere is no reason for an adult to ever be alone with a child.

HONOR AGREEMENT:One of the ways we value our team is by holding one another to a Biblical standard. The Belonging Co has created the Honor Code to ensure that we are held accountable as leaders within the body and as representatives of The Belonging Co. We ask that every Servant Leader read over and sign The Belonging Co Servant Leader Honor Code before the first time they serve.
