Tau Kappa Epsilon Promotes Inclusivity, Character, and Service

IntroductionDr. James Hickey, who served as chief
administrator of Old Bridge High School Principal for eight years, enjoys fostering the character development of college-aged men through his support of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) Fraternity. In addition to serving as an advisor and mentor to a TKE chapter for two decades, Dr. Hickey also sits on the Fraternity’s Grand Council.
About TKEWith a 100-year legacy, TKE currently
operates nearly 300 chapters and has impacted the lives of about a quarter of a million alumni. The mission of TKE is to make "Better Men for a Better World." It welcomes all men of strong character to join the Fraternity for Life, regardless of social status or ethnic background. In fact, TKE was the nation’s first fraternity to establish a non-exclusionary clause.
ConclusionThe members of of TKE are highly engaged in
community service, having already raised one million dollars for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. The founder of St. Jude, Danny Thomas, is a TKE and one who exemplifies the organization’s mission of creating a better world.
