Context : • Soda ash solid wastes highly alkaline. • 12 soda ash manufacturing sites have been closed•No new plants in 15 years in the developed world.

Context:•Tata Chemicals is the world’s second largest producer of soda ash•30 acre solid waste dump site at Malara

Innovation:

For the first time:• a highly alkaline and

saline site recovered. • green cover with a

living ecosystem developed

• By the use of bio fertilisers and bioremediation techniques.
