India,25thJuly,2017:TataPowerSolar,India'slargestintegratedsolarcompany,announcedcommissioning of 2.67 MW of solar carport at Cochin International Airport. The projectcomprisedofputtingtogether8472solarpanelson27carportsspreadover20289.9squaremeterofarea.Theentiresolarplantisaimedtowardsreducing1868tonnesofCO2annually.The grid-connected car port plant required high-level engineering and designing skills forassembling themassive carport structures.Additionally, advanced technologyanddesignwasofutmostimportancetomatchandmaintainthequalitystandardsinplace.
Commentingon thecompletion,Mr.V JKurian,ManagingDirector,Cochin InternationalAirport Limited, said“Cochin InternationalAirport Limitedbecame the firstAirport in theworld to be fully powered by solar energy during August 2015. It has now accomplishedanothermilestonebyimplementingIndia’slargestsolarcarport.WeappreciateTataPowerSolar’sprofessionalismandthankthemforcompletingthisprojectinarecordtime.” Commentingontheoccasion,Mr.AshishKhanna,ED&CEO,TataPowerSolar,said“Itisamatterofgreatprideforustobeabletofulfilclient’sobjectiveinmeetingtherequirementof solar panels and in the process setting up of India’s largest carport.
