Type: Close-up

Event: ‘Resisting Human Rights Erosion in Cambodia’, protesters are seen rioting while the police attempt to push them back and resist the crowds of angry rioters.

I chose this image because it is a very deep and thought-provoking photo, that makes one question how far people will go to stand up for what they believe in, and the risks they are willing to take because of this.

Event: Adolf Hitler/The Führer makes a speech to his Nazi’s as he rallies them in order to prepare for ‘The Nuremberg Rally’, which was the annual rally of the Nazi Party in Germany.

Why did you choose this photo? I chose this photo because I find History absolutely fascinating and I think that this photo should be remembered as it reminds us as humans of what people are capable of, and the lengths we go to, in order to prevent things like this occurring again.

Event: This picture of a temple was taken shortly after a rainstorm in Nikko, Japan.

Why did you choose it? I chose this photo because I have always been fascinated by the Japanese Culture and I think that this stunning photograph perfectly captures the beauty of Japan and it’s stunning scenery.

I chose this photo because it perfectly captures the ‘American Dream’; the idea that everyone in the United States has the chance to achieve success and prosperity. It also captures the beauty of the 50’s era in America when movie and theatre were on the rise, and film icons became worldwide icons and influences.

I chose this photo because it has a thought-provoking impact on me as it makes me question whether war will ever end, and it also makes me wonder what happens to war prisoners behind closed doors and the injustice they face.
