Sasha: 1st StoryUpdate: Man found with head injuries in Grimsby remains in hospital. Posted

December 02, 2014.

A man has been found with multiple head injuries, on a Grimsby street. The 26 year old, named locally as Jake Miller, was found on Saturday 29th of November, in Cooper Road, near the junction of Ladysmith Road. He remains in Hull Royal infirmary, in critical condition. He was believed to be on a night out and was found outside the betting shop, Betfred bookmakers. He was found by a police patrol at around 4am.A police spokesman said: ‘"The injured man remains in hospital and police inquiries are continuing."

The story is of a man that has been injured by someone or a group of people, we do not know. I will include this to inform the local area of the recent crime occurrences that have happened.I have included this story because it will be appropriate for the audience that is listening, such as the locals who can now be aware of their own safety, and the safety of others. I want to include this story as the first story of the news broadcast because it is the most shocking and important out of them all.

Connor: 2nd storySkint in Grimsby: Episode 2 of Channel 4 documentary the least viewed programme on main five channels.

The second episode of Skint saw a drop in viewing figures over last week's series opener. The controversial documentary show, which was filmed in Grimsby, amassed 923,000 viewers - down from 1.1 million - resulting in an audience share of 4 per cent.It attracted the smallest audience of the main five channels during the 9pm-10pm timeslot. This could be because:A viewer of ‘Skint’ said this: Having watched the 2nd episode of Skint I'm not too impressed with Channel 4s take on hard-up people. Whether it was Grimsby or in fact any Northern town the story would be very similar, but this is just a programme of dysfunctional families and "Skint" has little to do with that. Why didn't Channel 4 make a programme on hard-up people making the best of their lives, but that would be boring and the viewing figures would reflect that.Another viewer commented: True reflections of grimsby would show the other fishermen, the ones who have done well after the downfall of the fishing industry, the ones who got jobs, changed their lives, but still keep in touch with their fisherman friends, not all fishermen were/are drunkards.

Skint in Grimsby: Episode 2 of Channel 4 documentary the least viewed programme on main five channels. (Detail)

‘Skint’ saw a huge drop in viewers, the controversial documentary show, which was filmed in Grimsby, amassed 923,000 viewers - down from 1.1 million - resulting in an audience share of 4 per cent. This was the least viewed programme across the 5 main channels. This could be due to the lack of ‘meaningfulness’, people in Grimsby would want to watch a documentary on Grimsby, but across the nation, if it doesn’t affect themselves, their loved ones, or their area then they would not want to tune in as a nation. However, this would be a big local story as the townsfolk weren’t too happy about the show being based in Grimsby as they felt as though it would paint a bad picture of the town and so boycotted the show altogether. Others may have watched the first episode and not wanted to continue watching from then on out. Other people, like these I’m about to mention, thought that it wasn’t a true depiction of the town: A viewer of ‘Skint’ said this: “Having watched the 2nd episode of Skint I'm not too impressed with Channel 4s take on hard-up people. Whether it was Grimsby or in fact any Northern town the story would be very similar, but this is just a programme of dysfunctional families and "Skint" has little to do with that. Why didn't Channel 4 make a programme on hard-up people making the best of their lives, but that would be boring and the viewing figures would reflect that.” Another viewer commented: “True reflections of grimsby would show the other fishermen, the ones who have done well after the downfall of the fishing industry, the ones who got jobs, changed their lives, but still keep in touch with their fisherman friends, not all fishermen were/are drunkards.”

Jack: 3rd storySasha Baron Cohen’s new film ‘Grimsby’ angers residents for it’s poor portrayal of town.

Despite the upcoming film featuring Sasha Baron Cohen and Mark Strong not actually being filmed in Grimsby it has caused residents of the towns and shop owners who have been featured in the film to worry that the film might cause people to think the town has been accurately portrayed. Tilbury, the town near Essex where the film was filmed had undergone a reconstruction to become a rundown “Grimsby” showing people urinating from windows and mothers handing their children beer in the street. The streets have been shown to be covered in garbage and graffiti.
