Target Audience Profile

This is Louise. She is 17 years old, lives in London and is currently composing songs. Louise has been a huge fan of the music industry for most of her life, having founded her own band at the age of 11. Louise dresses in quite a modern rock, indie style as she often wears fashionable hats and shirts. The rock look is portrayed through her love of leather jackets and bright red lipstick. Louise’s past times consist of going out with her friends, as she likes to socialise and let her hair down, and writing her own songs.

When Louise watches TV, she tends to listen to music channels such as “MTV” and “NME TV” as these channels usually play the genre of music she is interested in. When she finds time to relax, she often watches popular teen dramas like “90210,” “Gossip Girl” and “Skins.” Louise listens to a range of music artists but her favourites are “Lana Del Rey” and “Birdy.” Her favourite bands are “The Beatles,” ‘Temper Trap” and “Florence and the Machine.” Louise prefers to listen to these artists and bands as they create the music which most attracts her, however, she also enjoys listening to a little pop and dance music.

The target audience for my magazine will be teenage girls with similar interests to Louise. I have taken into consideration the age of my target audience (ranging from 16 – 18 years old) and have decided that they are likely to be of a working class and will not be able to afford an overly expensive magazine. With this in mind, I believe that a price between £1.70 and £2 is quite reasonable for a monthly magazine. I have chosen Louise to be the main basis for my target audience as I feel that she represents the type of person who I would like to read my magazine as her interests are similar to my genre of magazine.
