3.4.8 Motion Sensitivity

The taotronics IP Camera comes with alarm input and output ports

that support external alarm sensor and devices.

I / O alarm input, set as “normally open”, is used to connect with an

external alarm sensor (i.e. door sensor, infrared, smoke alarm detector

etc.) through input port. When alarm occurs, the probe switch on the

camera closes to trigger an alarm on the sensor.

I / O alarm output, also set as “normally open”, is used to connect with

external alarm device, such as loudspeakers, sound and optical alarm

system etc. When an event occurs, the output switch on the camera

closes to activate the alarm device.

On motion detection page, you can set the sensitivity of motion

detection - the greater the value, the higher the sensitivity; hence the

lower relative probability of false alarms. We suggest you use the

default values.

3.4.10 Schedule recording

In this option, you can choose 24/7 recording or scheduled recording.

4. Troubleshooting

1) What is Remote Access? How do I enable it?

Remote Access lets you view the camera from any web browser on

a Windows PC. Even if you are not at home, you can still watch the

camera images and manage the camera's settings. Follow the

Quick Install Wizard to enable Remote Access. To connect to the

camera, check the following items:

....STATE2 on the camera flashes green LED (blinking 3 times every 3

seconds)

....Internet connection is working properly

... The router's LAN & WAN connection is working properly

... The router has UPnP enabled and DHCP server

... The router can get public IP

... The router has been upgraded to the latest firmware version

... You can also restart by pressing the Reset Button on the bottom

for 5 seconds to restore factory settings

Page 25: TaoTronics Cloud IP Camera USER GUIDEIoS.pdfThe taotronics IP Camera comes with alarm input and output ports that support external alarm sensor and devices. I / O alarm input, set

25

2) Why is the camera's network connection unreliable?

The network cable may not be properly connected. To determine

whether the cable is working, you can PING the address of a known

device on the network. If the cable is properly connected and your

network connection is working, you should be able to receive a

stable network connection (bytes = 32 time = 2 ms).

Also make sure all devices are connected and powered on

normally, in case the camera uses network devices such as hubs or

switches for network connection.

3) Why is the remotely configured camera shown as offline?

This may be caused by the firewall protection on your router (such

as MAC address filtering or IP address binding). You will need to

check your network firewall and make some configuration changes

to your local LAN to access external network cameras. For more

information, refer to the relevant sections on wireless connection.

Make sure the STATE1 (wireless status indicator) or STATE2 (wired

status indicator) blink green lights 3 times every 3 seconds.

You can also check the default router setting. Make sure the router's

DHCP server is enabled. If you are using a multi-level router, connect

through the WAN port. Finally, try restarting the camera, or restoring to

factory settings.

4) Why do the images show some vertical white lines?

There may be a CMOS sensor being exposed to strong light (such as

direct exposure to sunlight or halogen light) and a result of

overloading. The CMOS sensor is located on the rear of the lens to

monitor the optical signal and convert it to a digital format. If the

CMOS sensor is put under bright light for a long time, the network

camera should not be transferred to a dark area immediately to

avoid damage to CMOS sensors.

5) Why are the camera images blurred?

If the camera is working in a dark environment, the video image may

seem blurred. It may also be caused by poor focus; please place the

camera within a 3 meter range of the object and adjust the lens

angle slowly until obtaining the clearest image. Another solution is to

use a computer in a browser to view the 640 x 360 image (on the

computer, in fact, the image has been enlarged 640 x 360).

Page 26: TaoTronics Cloud IP Camera USER GUIDEIoS.pdfThe taotronics IP Camera comes with alarm input and output ports that support external alarm sensor and devices. I / O alarm input, set

26

6) Image quality is poor, how can I improve the image quality?

The Network Camera image display may not configured correctly. Through the

Web Management Web configuration video interface, you can adjust the

parameters to improve image quality (E.g.: brightness, contrast, color

saturation).

7) Why are there no images on the web browser?

ActiveX may not be enabled. If you are using Internet Explorer to

view an image, make sure to enable ActiveX through the Internet

Options menu. You may also need to modify the browser's security

settings to activate installed ActiveX plug-ins. If you are using an

Internet Explorer version earlier than 7.0, you need to upgrade your

Web browser so that you can watch the camera video.
