(1) Passing Time
You must not pass Singapore strait (Brothers to Horsburgh) during nighttime in laden voyage.
However, in ballast voyage, there is some possibility that we request you to pass Singapore Strait (Horsburgh to Brothers) during nighttime.
Therefore, please advise us of your Estimated Time of Passing (ETP) Singapore upon sailing last discharging port (please refer to TANKCRU-2).
(2) Draft Limitation
For transit of Straits of Malacca and Singapore, follow; (a) Maximum drafts
Eastbound: unlimited / Westbound: 18.5 m
With the tidal window from One Fathom Bank to Eastern Bank more than two hours (please one more hour on hand)
(b) Minimum under keel clearance

(F) Drifting Basically you are requested to follow our instructions. However, in case of any adjusting Singapore passing time and in an emergency (such as avoiding danger, it is as master’s decision to drift. In such case, please advise us of that at your earliest convenience by e-mail or telephone. We would also ask you to make a “Statement of Fact” regarding time, ROB and coordinates at the commencement and completion of the drifting. Above statement should be sent by fax or e-mail to Crude Oil Team (TANKCRU) as soon as possible.
(G) Voyage Number System
We use voyage number system, in which one voyage commences from the time when the vessel sails from last discharging port in the previous voyage, and ends at the time when the vessel sails from the last discharging port of the present voyage (please refer to TANKCRU-2).

(1) NYK operating Vessel
We will arrange bunkering. Basically we plan to carry out bunkering at Off-Fujairah or Off-Khor Fakkan, which is bunkering supplier’s option. The bunkering quantity at above ports must be considered basis AG(bunkering inboundAG(bunkering inboundAG(bunkering inboundAG(bunkering inbound or outbound at Fujairah/Khor Fakkan) or outbound at Fujairah/Khor Fakkan) or outbound at Fujairah/Khor Fakkan) or outbound at Fujairah/Khor Fakkan) –––– Japan Japan Japan Japan –––– Ag(bunkering outbound at Ag(bunkering outbound at Ag(bunkering outbound at Ag(bunkering outbound at FFFFujariah/Khor Fakkan) ujariah/Khor Fakkan) ujariah/Khor Fakkan) ujariah/Khor Fakkan) plus five running days margin. Upon receiving master’s bunker requirement, Fuel Team in NYK will arrange necessary amount. NYK Fuel Team will tell you the bunkering details by e-mail titled “NOTICE OF BUNKER SUPLY” after bunkering is arranged.

(2) Time Chartered out (T/C out) vessel
Charterer will arrange bunkering.
Please follow their instructions.
And you do not need to send ROBDATA Report to NYK.
(I) Attentions during the voyage
Due attention should be paid to the following points in every voyage unless otherwise
instructed.
(1) to run the vessel at the normal efficient speed, unless otherwise instructed
(2) to choose the shortest possible route, in view of safety and quickest transit
(3) to leave port without delay upon completion of loading/discharging, unless otherwise
instructed or any port regulation prescribed
(4) to pay due attention on the cargo on board throughout the voyage
(5) to always keep all caro gear and equipment in good working order

Guidelines for Passage through the Strait of Malacca and the Singapore
Strait for Eastbound (Laden Voyage) Vessels
1. Vessels
Eastbound VLCCs planning to pass through the Strait of Malacca and the Singapore
Strait.
2. Assumed Depth and Minimum UKC
Vessels shall maintain the noted UKC at the following locations:
(1) One Fathom Bank
Assumed Depth: 23.0 m; UKC: 3.5 m
This route has a width of 1350 m with a depth of more than 23.0 m.
(2) Batu Berhanti
Assumed Depth: 22.5 m; UKC: 3.5 m
This route has a width of 560 m with a depth of more than 22.5 m between shallow areas and the
traffic separation zone.
depth less than 30 m around Batu Berhanti and Buffalo Rock should be marked on the chart as a “No-Go
Area.” (See attached sheet)
(3) Eastern Bank
Assumed Depth: 23.5 m; UKC: 3.5 m
This route is wide enough and several areas register 23.5 m in depth.
On Japanese charts, there are depths of 23.5 m but BA charts indicate depths of 24 m. For safety
reasons, ships should recognize that the assumed depth is 23.5 m.
The area around the “23 (Rep)” mark should be marked on the chart as a “No-Go Area.” (See attached
sheet)
3. Daytime Passing off Singapore
Vessel should pass Racon-D after sunrise and Horsburgh LH before sunset.
4. Maximum Draft During Passage
The passage plan shall be based on the maximum draft of all parts (i.e., fore, midship,
aft) of the ship. The passage plan should not be based on the mean draft.
5. Passage Plan Speed
The master should determine the speed for the passage plan after carefully considering
the estimated tidal stream, ship's capability, etc. Generally, speeds should be around 12
knots, and should have adequate allowance to catch necessary tidal windows.
The speed in the areas of One Fathom Bank and Off-Singapore shall not exceed this limit
(12 knots).
To prevent approaching shallow areas in emergency situations, ships should consider
reducing speed to minimize squat when passing One Fathom Bank, Buffalo Rock to Batu
Berhanti, and Eastern Bank.
6. Standard Time for Planning
Ships should set the Ship's Standard Time as UTC+8hrs when passing through this area. This
standard time shall be used in all ETA calculations. This local mean time should be used
for tidal calculations.
7. Materials for Tide Calculations
Tides should be calculated using the following materials in order to determine necessary
tidal windows:
<1> Japanese Tide Table, Vol.2
<2> BA Admiralty Tide Tables, Vol.3
<3> "Tidal Window 20xx" (PC program)
<4> Tidal data for the following locations*:
a. Singapore Victoria Dock
b. Tg Sedili Besar * This tidal data will be provided by the Tanker Management Team at NYK Line, and will
be calculated by use of data reported by the Japan Coast Guard. All information will
in the standard time of UTC+8hrs. Tidal data in <4> above will show an hourly tide
value in cm. The Tidal Window program of <3> above determines a tidal window by
using tidal data from <4>. Additionally, please use the tidal data for Tg Sedili Besar
when calculating tidal windows for Eastern Bank.
8. Required Tidal Window for Passage
Ships may use the tidal window at One Fathom Bank, Batu Berhanti, or Eastern Bank if the
entire tidal window is more than two hours in length and there is at least one hour
remaining in the tidal window at the ship’s ETP.
9. Date Range for Maximum Passable Draft to be Determined
Upon receipt of a Voyage/Loadable Order, the master should determine the passage
draft in accordance with instructions from the charterer, and the ETP for each point
should be based on the speed decided by the master.
The master should calculate the maximum passable draft of each day for seven days**
(from one day before to five days after ETP), and select the minimum passable draft as
the "passing draft of the voyage" so that ship can pass through this area any day in this
seven-day range. ** This seven-day range may be altered at the request of the charterer.
10. Ship-Shore Confirmation of Passage Draft
The "passing draft of the voyage" determined through the above procedure, in addition
to the ETP and the Loadable Stowage Plan, should be reported to NYK (TANKCRU and
MARTANKER).
