The McNair Scholars
Program at TAMUCC…
Named after Challenger Astronaut Ronald E. McNair…
•
… is looking for
*sophomore or junior level students *majoring in Liberal Arts or Sci & Tech
who want to go to graduate school
(excluding med schoollaw school).
To qualify for the program students must be in at least one of the following categories…
•Low income (usually defined as Pell Grant eligible) and first-generation in college (neither parent has a 4 year degree)
•Member of a minority group underrepresented in graduate education.
The McNair Scholars Program provides students with….
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE!!
The opportunity to work with a McNair Research Faculty Member during the summer on a research project.
A stipend of up to $2800 for completing the summer Research Experience!!!
Opportunities to travel and present your research at McNair Scholars Program conferences!!!

• University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio TX
Our Scholars have already attended conferences at
• University of California Berkeley, Oakland CA
• Heartland Conference, Kansas City MO
• Oklahoma State University, Stillwater OK
Research and Writing skills class to strengthen your skills as a
researcher and prepare you for the research experience and
graduate school!!!
The course is paid for by the university,
andyou earn 3 hours of upper
level course credit.
