In games played at Steinbrenner Field, the Yankees went 5-4. LOSING STREAK AT CHARLOTTE ENDS: Monday’s 4-2 win by Tampa snapped a 12-game losing streak by the Yankees at Charlotte Sports Park. It was the first win by the T-Yanks at the home of the Stone Crabs since game one of a double-header on June 13, 2013. FLEMING EN FUEGO: With a .432 batting average. Billy Fleming leads the Florida State League. Fleming is currently on a five-game hit streak and is second in the league with a .488 on-base percentage. The 23-year-old has hit safely in nine of the 10 games in which he’s played. TOP OFFENSE: Entering tonight, the Tampa Yankees own a league-best .266 team batting average. The Yankees also lead the league in on-base percentage (.344). 2015 REVIEW: The Tampa Yankees finished the 2015 regular season in 3rd place with an overall record of 66-72. Shortstop Tyler Wade was named to the Postseason All-Star Team after hitting .280 (103 hits) with 2 HR, 28 RBI and a .349 OBP in 98 games with Tampa. The Charlotte Stone Crabs captured their first Florida State League championship in four games over the Daytona Tortugas. Kean Wong ended a 13-inning marathon in game four by drawing a bases-loaded walk to beat the ‘Tugas, 3-2. THE 2016 TY COACHING STAFF: The New York Yankees Player Development office officially announced the 2016 Tampa Yankees Field Staff. The team’s new Man- ager will be Patrick Osborn with Pitching Coach Tim Norton and Defensive Coaches Antonio Pacheco and Michel Hernandez. Returning from the 2015 season are Hitting Coach Tom Slater, Strength and Conditioning Coach Joe Siara, and Athletic Trainer Michael Becker. OSBORN ANNOUNCED AS NEW MANAGER: The New York Yankees named Patrick Osborn as the newest manger of the Tampa Yankees. Osborn enters his third season in the Yankees organization and his first with Tampa. He managed the Staten Island Yankees in 2015 leading the club to the NYPL Championship (41-34). In 2014 he managed the GCL Yankees and led the club to a first-place finish in the Northeast Division (35-25). He spent three seasons (2011-13) as manager of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, a member of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and led the Blue Crabs to three consecutive postseason berths. HURRY UP! This season, MiLB has implemented Pace of Game Regulations for the Florida State League. All FSL ballparks are now required to have one timer in the outfield and two timers behind home plate between the dugouts. The new regulations include a 2:25 minute count down between half-innings, a 15-second pitch timer, a 30-second mound visit timer and several other miscellaneous Pace of Game procedures. FOR STARTERS: RHP Chance Adams (1-0, 5.40 ERA) will make his third start of the season.
