President’s CornerDear Fellow Members,

I mentioned in a recent email that one of my goals as Club President is improved communications. I am looking forward to continuing to use email, this newsletter and other means of keeping you abreast of the happenings in our club.

I am very glad to report that usage has increased significantly in the months since we enacted the Fixed Service Fee. This is what the Board had hoped for when we made this change earlier in the year. In May and June we had some great special events like Mother’s Day Brunch and Galatoire Weekend that generated high attendance and positive comments. The increased use and positive feedback tells me that members are getting it! The club is consistently providing great food and great service at an incredibly reasonable price - and under the Fixed Service Fee, the more you use the club the more you save.

If you have not visited the club recently, I encourage you to come dine and enjoy the great food, great service and incredible value the club is providing every day. To help make your next visit even more special, the club is offering a complimentary flute of champagne at sunset on Fridays throughout the summer. This promotion complements the other wonderful values offered each week like BOGO Lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Low Dough specials at lunch and dinner on Wednesdays and BOGO Dinner each Thursday (except for the one Thursday each month when we have our scrumptious Prime Rib Dinner Buffet, which is free to members celebrating a birthday that month). You will not find better food, better service or better value at any other club or restaurant in Tampa. If you do, I want to hear about it so we can match it or beat it for our members!

As you all know we have a wonderful club, one that I am very proud to lead. As your Club President, I am keenly aware that it is both my duty and honor to ensure that our longstanding reputation is upheld, maintained and improved. I remain committed to fulfilling my duty and I hope to see you at the club taking advantage of the great food, great service and fabulous value we are providing at the best club in Tampa Bay!

See you at OUR club—OFTEN,

President

From The Desk Of The General ManagerMembership matters at the Tampa Club! Our best source of new members is you. New memberships come from the friends, clients and colleagues who have experienced the club as your guest. Members often sponsor non members to use the club for special events like weddings, anniversary parties and business events. Many times these guests are so happy with their event and impressed with what the club has to offer that they ultimately join the club themselves. However, this scenario does not produce the number of new members needed to offset normal attrition. You know the old saying, “You don’t get if you don’t ask.” So I’m asking for your assistance.

I ask you to provide us with the name and contact information of one person who would enjoy being a member of our club. I, a member of our sales team, or a member of the club’s Membership Committee will contact your referral and extend an invitation on your behalf. When your referral is accepted for membership, you’ll get a $100 in food and beverage. It’s easy enough, but we can’t do it without your taking an active part in the recruitment process. Please feel free to email me, call me or give me your referral in person. Your support is truly appreciated.

Meet Club Members Marty Jones & Sandy BrussoMarty Jones and Sandy Brusso founded the Center for Anti-Aging and Wellness in South Tampa in March 2005 based on Marty’s dream of owning a medical clinic specializing in preventive medicine. Marty and Sandy know the key to aging well has everything to do with hormone optimization, nutrition, health and wellness. Their niche market is hormone optimization for men and women, weight loss, nutrition and Botox. Each client receives an individualized plan since one size does not “fit all.” Hormones can be replenished to more youthful levels and correct a multitude of problems such as low sex drive, fatigue, hot flashes, night sweats, muscle weakness, joint and lower back pain, insomnia, irritability, depression and weight gain, just to name a few. To learn more, please visit www.amowc.com or call 813-341-2600. Tampa Club members receive complimentary consultations.

Male Hormone SeminarThursday, July 22 11:30 am – 1:00 pm Free to attendYou are cordially invited to attend an informative seminar on the benefits of male hormone optimization therapy and HCG weight loss presented by the Center for Anti-Aging & Wellness. On average, male testosterone and other hormone levels decline at a rate of approximately 2% per year after age 30. Andropause and/or low hormone levels have a wide variety of symptoms, including low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, mental fog, aches and pains, heart disease, weight gain, arthritis and loss of muscle mass and strength. Bioidentical hormones have been available for over 30 years in this country, but are a relatively new choice for many providers. Join us to learn more about the benefits of hormone optimization, how you can take charge of your health, and how you can actually look forward to getting out of bed in the morning. To register, please call the club at 813-229-6028. Space is limited to 15 attendees, so call today!

ExpEriEncE riEdEl WinE TasTingFriday, August 20 | 6:00 pm Free for Vintners’ Club members $25 all othersClaus Riedel was the first person in the long history of the glass to design its shape according to the character of the wine. Wine lovers have always been enamored with Riedel glasses because of their large, delicate hand blown bowls and the lyrical noise they make when you toast with them. But does Riedel stemware really make a difference when it comes to evaluating and appreciating wine? TIME Magazine says, “The Riedel family has never stamped its name on a single bottle of wine but the Austrian clan of master glassmakers has done more to enhance the oenophile’s pleasure than any winemaking dynasty.” Join us and conduct your own comparative tasting! To RSVP, please call the club at 813-229-6028.

Summer Wines & Caribbean FoodsFriday, July 23 6:00 pm Free for Vintners’ Club members $25 all othersMany of us say that while we enjoy all wine, red is the color of our hearts. But the thought of drinking a glass of heavy red wine right now feels just that – heavy. Unlike most beverages that Americans drink, wine is high in acidity and invigorates the palate. As tastes shift toward lighter, less alcoholic wines for summer, refreshing choices are turning up more often. Join us for this tasting of crisp, light whites, refreshing rosés and lighter reds paired with small plates from the islands of the Caribbean. To RSVP, please call the club at 813-229-6028.

$5 Benefit for Crisis Center of tampa BayThursday, July 1 6:00 - 8:00 pm

The Crisis Center offers help, hope and healing to those experiencing life’s problems and challenges, big and small. Their services include helping people cope with the trauma of sexual or physical violence, depression and despair, substance abuse, financial distress, suicidal thoughts, emotional problems and family issues. The Crisis Center has specialized, state-of-the-art intervention and treatment services for children, adults and families. They make telephone reassurance calls and daily safety checks for low income, socially isolated elderly and disabled adults. Please join us for this mixer and 100% of your $5 entry fee will go directly to fund Metropolitan Ministries’ continued good work. Event includes complimentary appetizers and great drink prices. Cash bar available for guests. To RSVP, please call the club at 813-229-6028.

Table Manners 101Presented by Kim Goddard of Ms. Goddard’s Proper ProtocolFriday, July 30 6:00 pm $35 for parents, $18 for kids Includes five-course mealWith the picnics and barbecues of summer, table manners often take a dive. But summer’s over and it’s time for a return to school and a return to good manners. That’s why Florida’s best known etiquette expert is coming to the club for a refresher on table skills presented over a five course meal fit for the whole family.  Combining her two loves, children and teaching, Kim Goddard has created a fun, interactive way to bring manners, values, and confidence into the lives of children.  They will be exposed to more than just the skills of cordiality – they will also begin developing confidence in “grownup” situations.  And while Ms. Goddard appreciates poise and politeness in her class, she also encourages fun. “The main rule of etiquette is not offending others, so if the students walk away from my class remembering that, I’m satisfied,” Goddard says.  To RSVP, please call the club at 813-229-6028.
