The Report from the Jury

The International Estonian Philatelic Society (IEPS) has organized the Estonian Philatelic Exhibition EstEx 2018 at the Estonian Fairs Ltd, Pirita tee 28, 10127 Tallinn from Friday 13 July until Sunday 15 July.

The reasons for EstEx 2018 are to celebrate the 100 years anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, and to commemorate the 100 years anniversary of the first Estonian stamps. Secondly the exhibition is organized to improve the philatelic contacts and cooperation around the Baltic Sea. The international recognition to EstEx 2018 has been given by the Federation of European Philatelic Associations (FEPA).

The international jury has comprised 9 judges representing eight different nationalities. The jury work has been managed by its president, Jonas Hällström, from Sweden. The jury congratulates the organizers for their success with the exhibition. The exhibition standard is generally high, which also is reflected in the awards.

The jury reports the following changes and transfers from what previously have been announced in the exhibition catalogue:

A. From Traditional Philately Class to Postal History Class: ²61-65².

B. From Postal History Class to Traditional Philately Class: ²173², ²182², ²305-309² and ²316².

C. From Postal History Class to Open Philately Class: ²245-249².

D. From Thematic Philately Class to Open Philately Class: ²392-396².

E. Exhibit with frame number 460 has not been judged.

F. Literature exhibit no. 3 has been judged as one exhibit together with no. 1. Literature exhibit no. 17 has not arrived to the exhibition.

The jury has judged 131 different exhibits in total, representing 11 different philatelic disciplines. Subsequently the jury has awarded the following medals:
