Term 4 Week 10 Monday 17th December 2018
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Another wonderful year at CPPS has come to an end. I am so very proud of each and every one on the kids for their
quality work and quality manners throughout the year. They are all round quality kids!!! I am so grateful everyday, and feel
I am the luckiest Principal in the world to be a part of the CPPS family.
What a beautiful lunch we had last Wednesday for the teachers. Thanks so much to all who made a plate for the teachers
and to our P&C helpers for setting up. We all thoroughly enjoyed it!!
Congratulations to all of our Year 6 soloists, who performed so well at Band Solo night. I am so very proud of all of your
musical achievements over your time at CPPS. Well done also to our entire band; you sounded fabulous on the night.
Special thanks to Mrs O'Hearn, Miss Kearney and Mrs Sheedy for their amazing tuition and to Mrs Skinner for her
commitment and work with the band.
Thanks go out to our amazing staff, both in the classrooms and in our office and school. I thank everyone for their
dedication and exceptional teaching and support over 2018. We are a very lucky school to not only have fabulous
classroom practitioners, School Learning Support Officers, office ladies and GA, but wonderful people, who love the kids.
Sincere thanks to our P&C for their support and work to assist me in providing those extras for the kids. I appreciate your
attendance at our monthly meetings and your help and support for our major fundraiser, Trivia Night. Thanks so much to
our entire school community; your continued generosity and support of our fundraising is amazing!! It will be another busy
year in 2019 with Election Day and Colour Run. I look forward to having some new faces to come along and help us to
help the school next year.
Special thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers, who assist us with their work in the canteen, uniform shop, with banking
and home readers. Thanks to those who have helped out in the classrooms with maths and reading groups. We say
farewell to a number of our terrific volunteers as their kids move on to high school. We all send our sincere thanks for your
excellent contributions to Coal Point PS. A special mention to Kaya, who has over the last few years been ordering for the
canteen. We truly appreciate your help.
As always, I ask that you keep an eye out for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary around the school over the
holidays. The School Security number is 1300 88 00 21. The school playground will be open as part of the 'Share Our
Space' initiative for games and sports, and there will be a security guard on site. Please watch out for each other's kids,
especially around our local reserves.
I hope everyone will come along to finish off the year with our Christmas assembly and Year 6 clap out on Wednesday
from 1pm. All students (and visitors) are invited to come along with their Christmas accessories for our assembly.
All students from Year 1 to Year 6 will return for the 2019 school year on Wednesday, 30th January. On the first day
back, students may put their bags at their 2018 classrooms and line up in their 2018 class lines after the bell rings. When
student enrolments are finalised, 2019 classes will be allocated. Kindergarten for 2019 will also start school on
Wednesday, 30th January, but at 10am. Students are to line up under the COLA to start their first day of big school.
Once again, thanks to all for another fabulous year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! Have a safe and happy
break with your families. I look forward to seeing the children back on Wednesday 30th January 2019.
Kind regards,
Kim Creswell
Principal
