Final weeks of Subiaco museum exhibitionThere are only a few weeks left to see the Subiaco Museum’s exhibition When the Great War came to Subiaco. This exhibition is an intimate insight in to the significant impact the First World War had on the Subiaco community.

Ten per cent of Subiaco’s entire population enlisted to serve in the First World War and of these brave soldiers nearly twenty per cent did not come home.

As 2015 marked the ANZAC centenary, the impact of the war and its effect on the community is still a part of our lives today. When this exhibition opened it featured twenty-three soldier stories as identified by Subiaco Museum. Since then, our community have helped the museum tell the story of fifty-six more men through the Subiaco Soldiers’ Stories book.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see such a meaningful part of Subiaco’s history.

The exhibition is on display until Saturday 14 November at Subiaco Museum, 239 Rokeby Road, Subiaco (next to Subiaco Library). Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 1pm to 4pm and Saturday from 12pm to 4pm.

For more information, contact Subiaco Museum on 9237 9227 or visit www.subiaco.wa.gov.au

This fun adventure map is a great way for children and adults alike to get active and discover the rich history behind some of Subiaco’s most well-known landmarks. Young explorers can hunt for clues along the trail to spell out a secret password and the map includes plenty of quirky facts and fun activities to do.

There is no better time than spring to get your little ones out and about. It takes a full morning or afternoon to complete the whole activity but you don’t have to do it all in one go.
