TAKE HOME QUIZ IN EN 201

1. Mr Ron Clark is an ordinary person. He does what an ordinary person do, the only extra

ordinary about him is that he is very dedicated to the teaching profession. He is not

overly attached to his job because he still finds time for his love life and he still takes

care of himself when he gets sick, still he has this care for his student. Mr Clark is very

eager to accept new challenges and never gives up, he tries several strategies for him to

succeed. He is very kind, sweet and youthful he tries his best to communicate and

mingle with his co teacher, principal, neighbours and students. He is one of a kind.

2. In my own observation, the following realities were seen:

a. Home and Family were seen a big impact in terms of the child’s behaviour in

school like having family problems, rejection in the family etc.

b. Students from the lower section were given less treatment by the school

compared to the students from the higher section.

c. There is discrimination between the intelligent and low performing students.

d. Students do not respect their teacher.

e. The classroom’s environment, appearance, color, design affects the behaviour

and cooperation of the students

f. Students will participate if they will get interested with the topic (Doing things that

they want to do or usually do outside)

g. Giving rewards to students who accomplished things very well

h. The environment (place where the students live, neighbours, friends outside

3. Like all the teacher passed on the lower class, students are trying to get rid of Mr Clark,

they bullied him, ignored him, rejected him, and all negative things a student can do to

his teacher, even destroying the room which Mr Clark arranged. With all this acts of

should I say “violence” Mr Clark still tries his best to mingle with his students, one by one

he touches the student’s hearts, he tries to play outside, he taught them values, help

them home, even meeting students outside the school premises for him to conduct

tutorials. Mr Clark tries his best to communicate with the students, according to the

famous saying “If you can’t beat them, join them” for me, this is what Mr Clark have

done, Mr Clark is an extraordinary teacher for doing these things also his principal never

believed in him, his principal thinks that Mr Clark is a fool but despite that, Mr Principal

still gave Mr Clark the chance to prove that his students are more than that, they can do

extra ordinary things, they are smart, they just need motivation and love.

4. TAUGHT CURRICULUM – before the academics, Mr Clark developed the values of his

students by giving them rules to follow and to know. He has this plan that when the

students will be able to follow his rules they will perform well in the academics, for very

wrong doing that his students do, he add it up to the rules. SUPPORTED CURRICULUM

– in his teaching, he uses visual aids and materials, like eggs, big book, food, and milk.

ASSESSED CURRICULUM, at the end of the school year, the students were given a

test which tells if they know well or they improved a lot, and they did. LEARNED

CURRICULUM – there is changes in the students behaviour, if affects their cognitive or

their knowledge about lessons, their mastery level, affective is the students values

towards other students and to their teacher and psychomotor is the students activeness

in games, sports, music, class participation. HIDDEN CURRICULUM – the classroom’s

design were added up, color were changed, desks, computers and books were

displayed.

5. I will be myself, I will mingle with my students and I will love them no matter what as long

as there is still boundaries of I being a teacher, I will let them learn English in a Fun way,

I will accept them for who they are and whom they want to be, I will teach the students,

not the subject meaning I will not make the subject difficult, I will teach little things but I

will teach it well, as long they learn something for me, I don’t care whether it is few or

many as long as they got knowledge for me, it is an achievement, and lastly I will not

judge my students according to his/ her behaviour, attitude and conduct to school, I will

understand their problems and needs. Though I may not be a great teacher or a good

one, I will let them in to my heart and I will go directly and touch their hearts, we will have

a good time with each other, I will give them discipline that the society needs and I will

make sure that they will never forget me.
