Now, what if they got a new job? What if they weren’t there to support you?

Maybe you need a PLN!

Page 5: Take a minute…

What is a PLN?

Personal Learning Networks are systems that help learners take control of and manage their own learning. This includes providing support for learners to:1. Set their own learning goals2. Manage their learning; managing both content

and process3. Communicate with others in the process of

learning and thereby achieve learning goals

Page 6: Take a minute…

Simply put:A PLN is a system for lifelong

learning.

Reasons to NOT start a PLN now

• You have a ton to do already.• You are stretched in multiple areas.• There aren’t enough hours in the day.• You already have professional development,

meetings, phone calls, texts and more email than you can handle.

Page 8: Take a minute…

But, a PLN could provide you with…

• Professional development • Resources for your job/classroom, such as free

websites and software• Lesson plan/PD ideas from master teachers• Information about new technologies and how

to integrate them into your PD/teaching• Collaborative solutions• Interesting links to education news
