Geography• Tajikistan is a country

located in Central Asia. It shares borders with Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. 93% of the country is covered by mountains, so that only around 7% of the land is arable, and in comparison with other Central Asian republics like Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, Tajikistan has only little natural resources at its disposal.

Culture• The most revered figures from

Tajikistan's Persian past are the 10th century philosopher-scientist Abu Ali ibn Sina, author of two of the most important books in the history of medicine, and the poet Rudaki, court poet in Bukhara in the time of the Samanids. Tajiks also venerate Firdausi, a poet and composer of the Shah-nameh (Book of Kings), the Persian national epic, and Omar Khayyam, of Rubaiyat fame, both born in present-day Iran but at a time when it was in the same empire as Tajikistan. Additionally, Tajikistan is a country with a highly interesting history and culture, as well as a beautiful nature, which you can discover during your stay in Tajikistan.

People

The Tajiks, as an Indo-European speaking people, have inhabited Central Asia since the dawn of civilization and are most closely related to the people of Iran. They have gave name to all of what today is Kazakistan , Turkmenistan, Afghanistan etc. The -stan Suffix, in these countires names, means land in Tajik(Persian) language. More than 90 percent of the population is Moslem. The people are notable for their industrious nature, settled way of life, devotion to family, children,native land and home.

Dushanbe. It is situated in Hissar valley.
