INTRODUCTION OF EXCHANGE
To accommodate Taiwan market to a developed one, TWSE launched a centralized SBL system in June 2003 to meet the needs of qualified institutional
investors while TWSE serves as an intermediary. . In terms of SBL trading volume for 2007, competitive
auction transactions accounted for 41% and negotiated transactions accounted for 59%.
HISTORY
Taiwan stock exchange was established in 1962. All though it is registered as a private institution in name
it actually enjoys a monopoly must like state – Run enterprise and benefits from any special privileges.
It was formally founded on 1st November 1994 the initial firm of the foundation was donated by the
Taiwan stock exchange, Taiwan securities association and Taiwan depository and clearing. It’s Headquarters
located at zhongzheng district at Taipei city.
