  • What is Tai Chi & Qigong?TAI CHI CAN BE CONSIDERED A FORM OF QIGONG OR AN INNER MARTIAL ART.

Qigong consists of meditation, physical movements and breathing exercises. Tai Chi is based on relaxed and slow-moving exercises, one posture flowing into the next, like a stream of water.

The week will commence with an island fish-fry welcome for Master Zhang Hao at sunset (optional). Master Zhang Hao and his senior instructors will perform a demonstration to introduce you to the Tai Chi and Qigong art forms taught at the Chi Chinese Healing College. Throughout the week classes will be held daily and take place from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Informal gatherings with Master Zhang Haos senior instructors will also be organised for participants to revise what they have learnt during the Masters classes. No previous experience is required and there will be plenty of time for a holiday! A celebratory dinner at the end of the week will be held at Dinos Restaurant at Bumboras (optional).

  • Master Zhang HaoMaster Zhang Hao came to Australia in 1988 to promote the benefits of oriental health systems. He established the Chi-Chinese Healing College and has become a prominent and respected leader in the fields of traditional Chinese healing, Tai Chi and Qigong.

At a very young age, Master Zhang Hao learnt martial arts under the guidance of his grandfather, a prominent Chinese medical scholar and Tai Chi master. In 1982, Master Zhang Hao graduated with high distinction from the prestigious Beijing Institute of Physical Culture receiving a Bachelors degree in Physical Education, majoring in Chinese body-work therapies, Wu Shu and Tai Chi.

Master Zhang Hao won the Silver Medal at the China National Wu Shu Competition in 1978 and the Gold Medal for the Best Martial Arts Performance at the China Traditional Martial Arts Tournament in 1982.

In the peaceful surrounds and abundant natural setting of beautiful Norfolk Island, Master Zhang Hao will focus on detailed refinements of the Simplified 24 Form Yang Style and the gentle and graceful Wild Goose Qigong taught at the Chi Chinese Healing College.
