lsJamie lives and breathes the art that is her photography, but when she puts down her camera, her focus becomes all about her family. She has shared the last 10 years with her husband, Billy. Jamie’s 11-year-old son loves rock and roll and 9-year-old daughter loves gymnastics and spends most of her time standing on her head, so she has her hands full, but wouldn’t have her life any other way. Jamie doesn’t take a second for granted with her family or with the business she’s built. Jamie’s motto: “Life’s to short to sweat the small stuff. Do Epic Shit.”

Lindsey surrounds herself with art, music, paint brushes and all things fuzzy. When Lindsey steps away from work, you can usually find her redecorating her old warehouse loft apartment for the trillionth time, re-purposing some old furniture she dug out of a basement somewhere or curled up on her couch with a fuzzy blanket, her 15 lb cat, Suki (aka Fatty), her pup, Molly (aka The Bearded Lady). If she’s lucky, her boyfriend (aka Boyfriendpants) is home from playing music on the road long enough to lounge around with their furry family of fun, too.

Sarah joined the Adore Girl family in July of this year. She brings a flair of organization to the office by way of potted plants, a wax seal stamp and random doodling on the white board. A Nashville newbie, Sarah lives with her boyfriend, Austin, and their miniature Australian Shepherd, Kentucky Blue. She’s an avid sports fan, likes her red wine chilled and makes the best fried chicken. She loves the lake, campfires and all things outdoors. Her favorite part of the job is designing this magazine!

Thoughts From Behind The Camera A letter from the Creative DirectorHappy Halloween!

Anyone who knows me know that this time of year is my absolute favorite! As soon as the first cool misty morning rolls around, I’m ready for pumpkin carving, lots of candy, and everything macabre. The entire month of October consists of nothing but hair-raising horror movies, loads of fake spider webs and planning my most nightmarish costume to date. Over the years, it has become ritual with my best friend and photographer, Stephanie Hines, to have a creep-tastic photo shoot. We douse ourselves in fake blood, liquid latex and black eye make up. Add a little dry ice, studio lights and Rob Zombie music on the stereo and we shoot for hours. Two years ago, after our shoot, as we were flipping through the images we had created, we literally scared ourselves with what seemed like stills from a real horror story. This year, we will be at it again and I can’t wait! Find images from our past spooky shoots on pages 6 and 7. The Adore Girls will also be attending an event in Murfreesboro on October 17th where we will not only be giving away a free 5 wardrobe change session (valued at $500) to the best costume in attendance, but we get to be the judges! I’m pumped! Details for that event can be found on page 26.

Sincerely & Slightly Sinister, but with much love,Lindsey

Killer C u r v e s &

KariSmaMeet Richie Lee, Nashville’s best personal trainer and owner of Karisma Fitness.

Page 11: TAG - October 2014

How did Karisma Fitness get its start?I wanted my company to represent a feeling and a philosophy rather than just another fitness business. After many sleepless nights of brainstorming a company name that would bring the brand to life, it came to me in the middle of the night. Karisma is a combination of “charisma”, (the feeling of compelling devotion) and my Goddaughter, Karisa, who is my heart. It’s about being emotionally, mentally and physically fit.

How long have you been in business?Karisma Fitness was established in 2010 after being awarded the #1 personal trainer in Nashville for the second consecutive year. Soon after that, I opened the studio in late 2011.

Did you always want to be a business owner?I didn’t ever really give it too much thought until I found

myself being frustrated with the lack of integrity at other fitness facilities that I was renting out. The only way to do it, is to do it yourself.

What makes Karisma Fitness the best fitness studio in Nashville? My clients make us the best fitness studio in Nashville. You are going to get a superior workout, without a doubt, but we are much more than that. I believe that building confidence and having fun is the best approach. Let’s face it, if you are having fun, you will be consistent and if you are constant with your routine, you will get fit purely by accident.

What advice do you have for girls who are looking to start a fitness regimen?Find something that you enjoy. Have a plan and keep yourself to a set schedule. Otherwise, you will just become a statistic. Women can often be very

critical when it comes to their outward appearance, so I believe in instant gratification. I will guarantee you feel a physical and mental change immediately!

What are some tips for getting the most out of a workout?Focus. Focus. Focus. By nature, as humans, we a very easy distracted. Just focus on your breathing, what it is you are doing and, most importantly, why you are doing it. Don’t waste your time counting reps! Instead, make your reps count!

Starting a fitness regimen can be a little daunting. What would you say to those women who are a little hesitant to help them stick with it?Come see me. All you have to do is show up! Starting anything unknown can make on feel hesitant. It’s like starting the first day of school. Looking

In its third year, KariSma Fitness has become a mecca for Nashville women who are driven to tone both their bodies and their minds. Richie Lee blames their amazing results on his fun, concentrated workouts and his connection with his clients.

back, aren’t we all glad we did? Honestly, I do my best to take all fears away and replace it with fun. If you enjoy what you are doing, you quickly realize that fear is simply self-imposed.

How do you connect with your clients to help them get the best results?I get to know them and they get to know me. I have a very “personal” relationship with my clients/friends. I understand what motivates them and they understand where I am coming from. Building this rapport is incredibly necessary to achieve the best results in the shortest period of time. Sometimes,

I feel as if I am more of a psychologist than a trainer. They get what they are looking for and, as a result, I walk away feeling rewarded, as well.

What do you love about the business?I love watching the transformations happen every day. Not just the transformations that happen on the mat, but also the transformations that happen outside of the studio. I love witnessing insecurities become confidence. Seeing the shy become outgoing. Seeing the frowns become smiles. Seeing minds and bodies getting stronger. Mostly, I love how my girls interact and support one another. This is a family.

What is your biggest struggle with the business?Running the business. I can’t stand being behind the desk. I feel like it disrupts my energy. I would much rather just teach and learn.

Any word to future clients? If you are looking for a unique program that will change your life mentally, physically and spiritually…this is it! I have infused true martial arts and fitness into a program specifically geared towards women’s needs in all 3 of the above aspects. “When a woman knows how to defend herself, she knows no obstacles in life.”

Words Wise from the I am one of those types of women who constantly hide whenever a camera comes out. The reason why is because I did not like my smile or my curves. In a world that seems so focused on how a woman looks regarding her body, I felt that I should hide in oversized clothes until I went to the Southern Women’s Show with a very beautiful friend. While at the show, I passed several booths advertising a boudoir photo shoot. Some of the pictures that I saw showed the model body type girls in gorgeous lingerie and they also had photographs of curvy women. Most of the photographers had some nice pictures, but I noticed that they were shot inside of a hotel room. That just made it feel cheap and dirty.Later that night I decided to search for photographers in Nashville and the name that popped up caught my attention. The name was The Adore Girls. I went to the website and, let me tell you, I was blown away. The women were gorgeous and they looked like it was easy to have their pictures taken in their bras and panties. I decided that night to step out of my comfort zone and take the step to have my picture taken. On the day of my photo shoot, I was extremely nervous and I was contemplating putting it off but, once I arrived and met Jamie and Lindsey, I felt like I was the most beautiful woman in this world. My makeup and hair were done and it was time to dress down. I admit, I was still nervous, but once Jamie started shooting and Lindsey was directing my moves, the nerves went away and I was having a blast. I felt like I had been taking pictures in my lingerie for years. Jamie and Lindsey had me laughing and smiling so much that they could have told me to stand outside in just my panties, and I would have done it. When my husband and I started looking through the proofs, I just could not believe that it was actually me. We are having a tough job trying to pick which ones we want because he loves all of them! The confidence that I have now cannot easily be written down into words. I urge every woman that is reading this to call Jamie and Lindsey at The Adore Girls and set up your time to be photographed. You will be blown away. Thanks again, ladies, not just for the photographs but making me feel like I was the most beautiful woman in the world. XOXO- Miss Jen
