Taekwondo

Taekwondo It is a martial art become Olympic combat sport since 1988, when it was introduced as a demonstration sport in the Olympic Games held in the city of Seoul in South Korea. Taekwondo is known for the variety and its spectacular kicking techniques, and today is one of the best known systems. Taekwondo is primarily based on much older martial arts like kung fu or wu shu Chinese, in some of his open hand techniques, the Korean taekkyon in the manner and conduct of the blows with his foot, and the karate-do Japanese, where it gets the blows with his fist, open hand rough, planimetry , blockades, the positions, the system of degrees belts, his first uniform, and their first forms.

Beginnings

Military Goguryeo Dynasty developed a style of boxing or martial art or "Korean kempo" based on various Chinese styles, adapted to their own needs. It was a style that placed great emphasis on kicks instead of punches. This style of self-defense without weapons is called taekkyon.

Caracteristics

It is characterized by its extensive use of kicks and leg techniques, which are much more varied and have greater prominence than in most martial arts. Also, technically gifted of them make them stand out for their great speed and accuracy.

The emphasis on techniques practiced depends fist style, the coach and the school where you practice. Currently, many schools tend to neglect training techniques open hand and fist, because its use is increasingly restricted in the competition, giving score to toe. However, good training should include both hand techniques and leg techniques of Taekwondo, and should be focused not only to success in the competition but the domain and knowledge of the martial art.

Kicking (chagui)

Taekwondo is a martial art known for its kicking techniques, usually focused on the attack to the trunk or head. Each technique has turn kick variations at different heights, with rotation (mondollyo or tidola), jump (tuio), sideways, backwards, etc..

Belts

White : " It symbolizes innocence " , ie the lack of knowledge and skills of the practitioner who just starts discipline. The constancy and perseverance that innocence will lead , over time , experience and expertise.

Yellow: " It symbolizes the land " where the seed is planted in the ground waiting to grow . Similarly , the bases of the TKD are the seed begins to germinate the student .

Green: " It symbolizes the reborn plant" that grows and is firmly rooted . Likewise the TAEKWONDO off in the consciousness of the student throwing inside authentic roots that strengthen .

Blue: " It symbolizes the sky " , to which the plant as it grows and matures, is addressed. Similarly the student begins to mature , so you know your goal is knowledge and is directed towards it .

Red: " It symbolizes danger and passion television " , at this level, the student reached mastery of techniques, which use them, cause serious damage to your opponent . That is why the student must exercise self-control and common sense an adversary should think twice attitude, a) cause or b) leave.

Black : " It symbolizes the opposite of white ," that is, represents the maturity and knowledge. It also indicates the unpredictability of the darkness that is presented to the practitioner to realize that learning is not completed , but rather , this is just beginning , through the Danes try to approach perfection.
