One simple act - Send a Graduation Card

The Rosenblums are long time TAE members. David and Marla have bothbeen teachers at TAE. During these times, we all have different challengesand often wonder how we can make a difference in someone's life whilestaying at home. Please read the letter from Marla below and see how you canmake a difference.

Life is often measured in milestones and lessons; goals and accomplishments.When you have a child born with a rare genetic syndrome you often measurelife in seconds, minutes, and days; taking not one moment for granted. Ourdaughter entered this world just 12 days after 9/11. Aubree defeated the oddsand survived. During these last 18 years we have had to learn to adjust tomany milestones not met, lessons not understood, and achievements that willnever be. The sadness that comes with special needs often robs you and yourchild of so many typical life events we take for granted. There will be noslumber parties, driving lessons, boyfriends, college applications, anticipatingletters of acceptance, marriage and grandchildren. Never would we havethought we would be adding high school graduation to that list. The heartbreakis painful because it’s something we have built up all year. Aubree has noconcept of time. She goes by events and holidays. She knows graduation iscoming. She talks about it daily. Her dad, David Rosenblum, has hand written anote that he puts in her lunch box counting down each day for the last 295days of her senior year to what would have been her graduation day on June5th, 2020. How can we explain to her what’s going on in our world? We can’teven understand it ourselves. As graduation approaches, we found our heartbreaking for our sweet girl as she anticipates something that won’t behappening. Another milestone we will never get to experience. We wanted tostill make Aubree’s graduation something special.

Every Voice, Every Vote. The Reform Movement's 2020 Civic Engagement

Campaign

Every Voice, Every Vote is the Reform Jewish Movement’s 2020 civicengagement campaign, a nonpartisan effort to strengthen our democracy byencouraging everyone to participate in the U.S. election and ensuring thatReform Jewish values are represented in the public square.

What does the campaign entail?

This campaign has three areas of focus:1. Mobilizing our voters: With outreach in our congregations and

communities, our goal is 100 percent voter participation. 2. Combating voter suppression: We’re working in coalition to achieve

universal voter access and encourage universal participation.3. Engaging student voters: We’re working with youth leaders to

significantly increase the number of young voters.

The TAE Social Action Committee is putting together a group of peoplewho would like to plan how we would like to participate in theseprograms. Please email socialaction@adatelohim.com if you areinterested in helping on the planning committee.

Virtual Ride for the Living for the JCC in Krakow

On October 22, 2015, 30 TAE members led by Cantor Shukiar, experiencedthe unbelievable by visiting Auschwitz. We ended this overwhelming,indescribable day by having dinner at the JCC in Krakow. The grief weexperienced during the day turned to joy after talking with the JCC membersabout the resurgence of Judaism in Krakow.

For many years, the JCC in Krakow has held a “Ride for the Living” – a 60-milebike ride from Auschwitz to the JCC. This year, they are holding a virtual ride,walk or run that we can participate in. The Virtual Ride for the Living will“kickoff” on June 3 and end on July 5. Starting June 3 - bicycle, run, or walk the60 miles by July 5.
