Controller Network Communications

The Xenta 300 controllers communicate with each other using a common network, LonWorks TP/FT-10, 78KbpsLON (Local Operating Network). The LONcommunications to Xenta 300 is supervised from theFSCS controller.

Rating: Type 3, Max: 5V, .1A, Power Limited,8850ft @ 16awg cable. See smoke control systemmanual for table of cable and distance specifications.

RS232 and OP Ports

The Xenta 300 controllers provide an RS232 port (RJ45modular jack) for communications with a local directlyconnected Vista/Menta Host PC. This allows monitoringand maintenance mode operations to be performedwithout disturbing LON communications. The 0-073-0920 serial cable kit includes the RJ45 cable and D-Subadapter for this connection.

The Xenta 300 controllers provide a port for optional

communications with an OP Panel. The OP panel canmount on the face of the Xenta 300. The OP provides a4 line LCD display and membrane keypad and can becustom configured to provide display and adjustment of selected control and process parameters in thecontroller.

Neither the RS232 port or the OP Panel port are used totransport smoke control command operations and do notrequire supervision from the FSCS. Equipmentconnected to RS232 port (PC or Modem) must be ULListed.

LON Network Integrity

In smoke control applications, the LON networkcommunications cable may only interconnect productswhich are also UL864 listed. The smoke control systemmanual identifies the other TAC and 3

rdparty products

that may be interconnected in the smoke control systemwith the Xenta 300.

Communications integrity to/from the Xenta 300controller and other controllers participating in smokecontrol should be supervised by the FSCS controller. The FSCS should be configured to enunciate anycommunications faults detected in the connectivity withthe controllers used in the smoke control application.

Enclosure

The Xenta 300 controller is housed within a plasticenclosure and must be plugged into an Xenta 300mounting base (Part # 074-0901-x) ordered separately.

To simplify installation, the mounting base can be pre-mounted using mounting holes in the base, or snappedonto standard TS 35mm DIN rail (EN50022) and shouldbe installed within one of the ENCL-.. series enclosuresdesignated in the smoke control system manual.

oC

Storage Temperature: -4 to122oF (-20 to 50

Humidity: max. 93% RH non-condensingDry - Indoor

Power

The Xenta 300 controller should be powered by one of the Class-2 24VAC transformers listed in the smokecontrol system manual.

Power Input: 24VAC +-10%60 Hz @ 10VA Max.
